Austin Bulldog Rescue’s mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and find loving and knowledgeable families for rescued English Bulldogs. We rescue bulldogs from animal shelters, other rescue groups and from owners who can no longer properly care

for their English Bulldog. Upon intake, we place each bulldog into a foster home that has been pre-approved and fully prepared to care for the specific needs of each bulldog. We provide and fund ALL health care needs for each bulldog while in our foster’s care…including medications, surgeries, vaccinations, preventatives, supplements and of course, spay and neuter. When healthy, happy and ready, each bulldog is matched with a pre-approved family and if all parties agree it is truly a perfect match, the bulldog is adopted into their furever home.

Locke & Skippy are an adorable duo beloved by ABR.

This bonded pair may not be bulldogs, but we love them all the same. These two love their humans (as you can see) and love each other.

They’ve been through thick and thin and we’re hoping that they can find a forever home for the holidays!

What makes you happy? ✨
For us, it is watching Charlie’s whole world open up again.

Charlie came to us after losing his owner in the Rio Grande Valley. Thanks to someone who refused to let him be forgotten, he and his buddy Bruno were able to start fresh with us.

And since then, Charlie has made it impossible not to fall for him. He is affectionate, people focused, and gives the sweetest “love attacks” when he is excited. He nudges your hand, flops over, and smothers you with kisses that make it impossible not to smile. 🥹🤍

He has done great with other dogs, ignored a cat completely during a controlled meeting, and would likely do well with kids who can handle enthusiastic affection.

Charlie moves mostly on three legs due to an old injury, but he gets around beautifully in a home. He plays, explores, follows you everywhere, and proudly shows off that he is fully potty trained.

So when we ask, “what makes you happy?”
For us, the answer is simple.
Charlie. 🐾

Edwins Thanksgiving 🦃 Wish: A Forever Home🏠!

Yes, it is another Edwin post, but this one is special because Thanksgiving is around the corner and this incredible boy has SO much to be grateful for (and one BIG wish left to come true)!

After nearly a YEAR in rescue and not one but TWO life saving chances, Edwin knows more about being thankful than most of us ever will.
He is thankful for:
• Tennis balls that bounce just right
• Frozen Kongs that keep him happily occupied
• Chew bones for those satisfying gnaw sessions
• Soft rugs and grassy patches perfect for his signature back scratching roll

But here is what really fills his heart: the amazing humans who refused to give up on him TWICE, and the incredible doctors who performed a terrifying surgery to give this three legged wonder another shot at life.
Edwin has learned to be grateful for every single moment.

This Thanksgiving, while we are all shopping, getting ready to travel, and counting our blessings, Edwin is counting on someone to see what we see: a resilient, joyful, tennis ball loving boy who has been waiting far too long for his own family to be thankful for.
