We are a volunteer and foster based rescue in Portland, OR and Olympia, WA dedicated to saving dog's lives by pulling them from high-kill shelters.

MEET MINNIE!
Weight: 8.5 lbs
Age: 2-3 yrs old
Breed: Miniture Poodle mix
Engergy level: low to medium

Minnie is a California born mini-poodle. She is sweet and cuddly with her people and will happily hang out near her people or entertain herself. Mini is a home body and is looking for a person or family who also LOVES to hang out at home.

Minnie:
* loves to sleep with you in bed or on the couch,
she is a great cuddler
* rides well in the car
* is crate trained
( rarely crated in her foster home now that she has settled in)
* is house trained
* lives with an elderly female lab - Minnie loves her foster sister
* Minnie is a great leash walker but does not want to be walked in busy areas, quiet walks are more her thing
* plays well all by herself and keeps herself entertained
* is food motivated
* Not cat tested

Minnie’s perfect home would be with people who are patient as she settles in. Minnie is not a fan of walks where there are lots of people. She loves her yard and quiet walks with her foster-dog sister.

Minnie is up to date on his vaccines, had flea treatment, had de-wormer, and is microchipped, was heartworm tested and is spayed. her adoption fee is $400

Age: 1 yrs old
Breed: Terrier/Yorkie mix
Engergy level: medium

Kirby is a sweet and cuddly boy with the softest coat! He loves to cuddle with his people, play with dogs or entertain himself with his toys.

This was the year of unexpected surgeries!

This year was EXPENSIVE, with many surgeries like Noodle! Noodle had most of her puppies by C-section (in the middle of the night).

MEET DUKE!
Weight: 29lbs
Age: 4-5 yrs old
Breed: Beagle
Temperament: Friendly and Happy
Energy Level: Medium

Duke is a happy and joyful boy with a tail that never stops wagging. He loves everyone he meets (and they love him) and he is a great friend to all dogs he meets. He loves to play and loves to nap.

DUKE:
* Walks well on a leash
* is house trained (has never had an accident in his foster home)
* absolutely loves other dogs other dogs (big and small)
* LOVES to sniff on walks (loves to sniff anytime)
* is crate trained
* is super smart
* has done well will kids over 5 yrs.
* Not cat tested

From his foster home:
Duke is an absolute joy. You can’t be in a bad mood with him around. He loves other dogs and would love a dog friend in his adopted home. If he is adopted into a home as an only dog he will love to have some play dates with dog friends or go to doggy day care.

Duke medical: We have found Duke to be a happy, healthy boy except for his eye. He came into rescue with what is believed to be an injured eye. He could not see with it and we had it removed to make sure it caused to pain.

Duke is up to date on his vaccines, had flea treatment, had de-wormer, and is microchipped, was heartworm tested and is neutered. He had a dental cleaning. His is adoption fee is $400. Duke is fostered near Portland, Or.

COURTESY POST! MEET SONNY! SONNY is a growing pup at 16-20 weeks old. He was taken in from a family that that was letting him out daily to “roam the neighborhood. “ When home, he was kept shut in a bathroom or the garage with the door open, “hoping he’d just leave.”

He is very loving, attentive, and fun. Will thrive with a person or family who will continue to teach him basic manners and habits and give him the love and attention he deserves.

FROM HIS FOSTER: “he is good with little dogs he just wants to play but he’s clumsy. So far he’s done alright with my cats — he just needs someone to teach him little things. He knows sit and shake. He nervous pees or happy pees because he just wants attention. Even when encouraged to wander he sticks close.

It is thought that Sonny will be a bigger guy — we are told is mom is a dingo/pit mix, dad a shepherd, but we do not know for sure.

He is currently working on potty training and leash training (but is learning leash skills fast). He is scheduled for a neuter.

HOME! What’s the best fail you ask? Well a foster fail! This little peanut landed with the lovely Roxy! If you remember Roxy was found on the side of the road by a Good Samaritan with three puppies.

She landed an amazing home and this little peanut landed with her.

MEET PAISLEY! Paisley is 9 lbs., 5 years old, female Chihuahua mix. She is low/medium energy. Paisley is looking for a lap to sit on or another dog to cuddle with!

This is what we have seen in our foster home with Paisley:
• is a cuddle bug, lap dog
• loves dogs, big or small (will cuddle with them also)
• is house trained (she is currently let outside often)
• does not need another dog in the home
• she loves to meet new people on walks
• is crate trained
• she can be afraid of some men (only inside her home)

Paisley’s perfect home would be a quiet home with people who are patient as she settles in. She has been the perfect little foster dog. She loves her foster siblings but we think she will do well as an only dog also.

Weight: 13 lbs,
Age: 4 yrs old,
Breed: ShihTzu
Max loves many things; cuddling, chewy toys, any toys at all. He is an all around delight.

MAX's foster home describes him as:

Max is a delightful, happy and playful dog. He is affectionate and loves cuddles. He gets along with all the dogs he has been exposed to and we think he would love a dog in his new household. We also think he would be fine as the only dog in the family.

MEET TOBY! TOBY is 47 lbs, is around 1-2 yr old, male German Shepherd/Heeler mix (our guess). He is moderate/high energy. He loves to run and play but he will be happy to go into his crate for a nap, especially if everyone is busy. Please read all about Toby (below) and if you feel you are a good match for him and want to meet him, complete an application found on our website at the following link https://www.mywayhomedogrescue.org/adopt/apply-to-adopt/ Toby’s perfect home would have people be fairly active as he is young. He can tolerate long walks and hikes. He will need outlets for his energy so a home with a fenced backyard to play fetch or run around is ideal. He will do best with a person who will continue to work with him as he loves mental stimulation too. Our guess is he would be a good running companion. Toby: • loves the dogs he has met • does great in the dog park, shares with the other dogs • crates up very nicely, whenever he is asked and on his own • is house trained • he working on leash skills, does best with a gentle leader • LOVES balls • no separation anxiety (he is left alone in his foster home) • playful dogs make him happy • he can go to a home with another dog or as a single dog note: videos in comments! New photos! Toby is a young dog that has many great traits and does well in a home situation. He is a very sweet boy who can’t wait to find his forever home. He is a goofball in his backyard when he romps around with his ball and rolls in the grass. He is very mellow for being a young dog.
