Sasha has an osteosarcoma tumor on her skull ( #5). Anyone who’s dealt w/ & has knowledge about immunotherapies like the Yale HER2/EGFR vaxx or the Penn HER2/neu vaxx, Palladia, targeted drugs like Sirolimus etc in canine osteosarcoma— pls DM me. 🙏
I know a fair bit about canine oncology but my knowledge & experience is limited to soft tissue sarcomas, carcinomas & apocrine gland adenocarcinoma. I don’t know much about bone tumors or osteosarcoma. Would be grateful of any helpful advice, research etc.
Xx Thank you! 🙏💙

Topic: Testing & Targeted Drug Therapy - What’s that?
performs genetic testing of a dog’s tumor after surgical resection. The testing provides more information on the tumors genetic features which pathology do not contain. For example, mammary carcinoma features differ greatly from case to case.
Why’s it helpful to know what genes are upregulated, if hormone receptors are present & the specific genetic features of a tumor?
Because this information can identify specific therapeutic targets. It can tell you about the tumor’s sensitivity to chemo & identify small molecule inhibitors, tyrosine kinase inhibitors, immunotherapies & hormone receptor inhibitors of therapeutic benefit. Ex: the estrogen inhibitor, Tamoxifen can be very effective on mammary carcinoma that’s estrogen receptor+ but not estrogen receptor- tumors. Having this info can make other treatments & therapies available to your dog that otherwise wouldn’t be. Veterinary oncologists can create a targeted drug therapy cocktail to your dog’s tumor from the Fidocure report.
rescued Baily 4/28/18 from w/a giant mammary tumor already MET to her lungs. Dr Linderman crafted a targeted drug cocktail [Tamoxifen, Deramaxx, Sirolimus] & enrolled her in clinical trial of a HER2/EGFR cancer vaccine based on her genetic testing report. Baily’s highly targeted treatment protocol prolonged her life from the initial prognosis of just 3-6mos to 22mos w/o any negative effects to quality of life. 🙏🙌
To get testing, you have to tell your dog’s Veterinarian to request it. If you didn’t do so pre-op, it may still possible to request. It depends on whether or not the tissue sent to the pathologist is still available.
If your Vet is unfamiliar w/ direct them to Fidocure.com
Swipe to see what testing reports look like. #2-6 are 2 of Piper’s reports 2020 & 2022. #7-9 is Baily’s Innogenics Report 2018 (pre-Fidocure availability).

Piper finished Chemo! 🙌 Diagnosed w/a**l gland cancer (AGASACA) Jan 2020, remission Apr 2020, recurred Sep 2021, remission Apr 2022…
What is AGASACA? —Apocrine Gland A**l Sac Adenocarcinoma is a highly aggressive cancer in dogs. A tumor develops on the a**l glands & spreads quickly & often unnoticeably. It’s often caught late; already metastatic to lymph nodes or other organs.
Piper’s AGASACA was serendipitously found on imaging for an unrelated mammary tumor. PET scan to see if the mammary tumor had spread to before surgery found no signs of metastasis from the mammary tumor.
But— the scan showed cancer in lymph nodes at her hind end. Her DVMs did another re**al exam suspecting an a**l gland tumor & found a tiny BB sized tumor. As small as the tumor was— it had already spread to the sub-lumbar lymph nodes. And why this cancer’s often discovered at late stages.
successfully removed the mammary tumor, the a**l gland tumor & the cancerous lymph nodes. Piper’s original reason for seeing — the Mammary tumor turned out to be low grade & surgery was curative. While the AGASACA was a different story…
We wouldn’t have known Piper had AGASACA until much later but for the lucky happenstance that imaging for an unrelated cancer, discovered it.
We’re going to share more in a series of posts about , , oncology care, testing, , dog cancer diet, canine clinical trials, immunotherapies, cancer vaccines, targeted drug therapy, supplements & more.
Pls feel free to DM if you need advice or help navigating canine cancer. We’re happy to share our knowledge & direct you to research, expertise & sources. 💙
Sending Fur-hugs & Fur-love, 💙
