Hey there it’s me Jakob again!!! I have been to see my favourite Dr Rob this morning. I can say I haven’t p*ed anymore blood but Dr Rob did find some blood in my urine. Dr Rob also did a quick ultrasound on my bladder and found that the lining is thickened slightly. He told mum and gma that I should be on the other end of last week and be getting better. Gma is my nanna and she came cos she was worried too. Dr Rob gave me more medicine for mum to stick down my throat with some stick thing like she does for my skin medicines.

Hopefully with the pain and anti inflammatory meds, Jakob should be back to his normal soon.

A little message from our boy Jakob.

I has been home since last Friday and everything has gone so well. BUT…… I has started to p*e blood again tonight. Mum bree has shoved Va**um in my gob to help me chill out even more. Mum and aunty Robyn and my favourite Dr Rob are really concerned. Dr Rob thinks it could be cystitis or something like that. I get to go see my Dr Rob tomorrow to find out. Mum or aunty Robyn willl you all posted!

Charlie & Peach's foster carer is packing her bags to go overseas for a couple of weeks.
They really want to go with her.

Can anyone take in Peach & Mario, adopted as kittens, then returned recently , went on trial but have now come back. Their foster carer is going overseas for a couple of weeks and we desperately need a place for these two fur babies to stay.
They are becoming super upset being moved from pillar to post... and it has affected their toileting habits. Mario especially has been having some accidents, poor fella.
We need somewhere for them before Monday July 1st (Sorry guys , got my dates wrong) . Located in Yarraville currently.
If you can give them a forever home please talk to us as we are willing to negotiate adoption fee.

Help Save Our Superstar Kitty, Jakob
Our beloved Jakob, our resident superstar kitty, is facing a tough battle. Recently, Jakob had to be rushed to the Ivanhoe East Vet Clinic after he couldn't urinate and stopped eating. Dr. Rob discovered Jakob had a severe urinary crystals blockage, causing his bladder to swell to the size of a grapefruit. To save his life, a catheter was inserted to drain his bladder.
After a few days, the catheter was removed, but unfortunately, Jakob still struggles to urinate properly. Today, he underwent X-rays to check for any additional issues, but nothing conclusive was found. Jakob remains in the hospital and may need to stay for several more days.
Despite his challenges, Jakob's spirit remains unbroken. He’s still his cheeky self, finding ways to remove his cone and taste test his IV line. But behind his playful antics, we're deeply worried about his future.
Jakob's health journey doesn't end here. Alongside these urgent urinary issues, Jakob is also battling skin cancer, a lifelong fight that requires continuous treatment. The cost of his hospital stay and ongoing care is mounting, and we need your help to cover his vet bills.
Please consider donating to help Jakob. Your support will ensure he receives the care he needs and give him a fighting chance to enjoy many more playful, cheeky moments.
Thank you for your generosity and for being a part of Jakob’s journey to recovery.

PLEASE SHARE - LET’S FIND GIZMO A FOREVER HOME FOR JUST $50

Gizmo’s journey started with us as a tiny kitten. She found a loving home, but sadly, due to a heart-wrenching relationship breakdown, she’s now looking for a new family.

Gizmo is a gentle and shy soul who needs a quiet, patient home where she can be the only adult cat. She is not too bad with kittens so this may be an option. This sweet girl is strictly an indoor kitty, and she’s up to date with all her vaccinations, desexed, and microchipped.

Let’s give Gizmo the second chance she deserves. For just $50, you can bring endless love and companionship into your home. Can you be the one to give Gizmo her happy ending?

MIRACLE KITTEN COMET IS READY FOR THE NEXT CHAPTER OF HIS SHORT LIFE! WILL YOU GIVE HIM A HOME?

Comet had a rough start to life. Found abandoned in a box on the Rai Trail with two siblings and kittens from another younger litter, he was cold and hungry. He along with his siblings had been preyed upon by a predator and unfortunately, he a had few wounds that needed treating.
He was bottle raised and had a great appetite. But unfortunately like many neonate kittens that are bottle fed they missed the comfort of suckling on their mother. So, his brother began suckling him. This resulted in an infection that left Comet paralysed for 2 weeks.
He was treated by the amazing vet Di. The first time Comet when visited Di, I wasn’t sure that he would be coming home again. But during his examination he bit her! And she proclaimed, “he has s***k, and a lot of fight in him we have to give him a chance.” So, we did. He is a favourite patient at the vet clinic and the nurses lovingly refer to him as “spare parts kitten”.
Comet was on antibiotics for 2 weeks and started slowly moving around again. He got intensive physio and had a stringent rehab schedule. Now looking at him you wouldn’t know the trials he has been through.
Comet has been given a clean bill of health, his blood tests are amazing and he’s running around playing with all the new foster kittens.
We are unsure if Comet will have difficulties with his health later in life, so we need to be sure that whatever family takes him on, is in it for the long haul, ups and down, highs and lows, and potential vet bills included.
Comet has now been in foster care for an extended period and is ready for his forever home. He has grown up in a house with 4 children, 2 adults, 2 cats and multiple foster kittens, and a naughty dog. He is not fond of the dog but tolerates her as best he can, but they are usually kept separate.
Comet would benefit from a home with another furry companion as he has never been alone in his life.
He is sweet, curious, snuggly and playful.
Strictly indoor only.

Hallie: The Resilient Survivor
Hallie’s journey has been one of incredible resilience. Almost four years old, she has spent nearly half her life in the uncertain embrace of foster care. Rescued from the brink of death, Hallie was a stray who ended up on death row at a pound. Her eyes, once filled with fear, now hold a glimmer of hope for a permanent, loving home.
Despite her challenging past, Hallie has shown remarkable strength. Once she settles into her environment, she enjoys the simple pleasures of life—sleeping, eating, and playing. She has a gentle side that emerges slowly but surely, and with time, patience, and love, she has even allowed the occasional pat. Hallie gets along well with other cats but isn’t suited for homes with dogs or children. She needs a quiet, stable environment where she can continue to blossom at her own pace.

Sandy: The Spirited Daughter
Sandy, Hallie’s daughter, is just over two years old. Like her mother, she was saved from a grim fate and has been in care ever since. Sandy is still learning to trust humans, and while she isn’t as approachable as Hallie, she has her own unique charm. She can be a bit bossy with other cats, asserting her personality in the little world she understands.
Sandy's spirited nature means she needs a patient, understanding home where she can feel safe. A quiet environment without dogs or young children would be ideal for her to come out of her shell. She has potential to be a wonderful companion, especially in a barn setting where she can embrace her independence but still be cared for and loved.

Their Plea for a Home
Hallie and Sandy have already been through so much in their short lives. They have moved between three foster homes and are currently struggling to fit in with the other cats in their current placement. They desperately need a stable, loving home where they can feel secure and loved. We do want to keep them together as we have tried separating them and they fretted for one another.

These two timid, "spicy" cats are running out of options. They may never be lap cats, but they deserve a chance to live without fear, to play and sleep in peace, and to know that they are safe. They might make excellent barn cats, provided they are given the time to adjust and are contained long enough so they don't run off.

We are reaching out to you with heavy hearts, hoping that someone with a big heart and a quiet home will give Hallie and Sandy the second chance they so desperately need. They have shown incredible courage and resilience, and with your help, they can finally find the peace and stability they deserve.
Please, consider opening your home to Hallie and Sandy. They are waiting for a miracle—be that miracle for them.

REST IN PEACE DEAR MARIE

Today we said goodbye to Marie. Marie came to us last February after being in Central Goldfields pound, and her behavior was deteriorating so we took her in under our wing. When we took her in she was not a fan of being held or other cats but with patience and time she softened and became a more friendly, affectionate cat.

Yesterday morning we could see there was something wrong as she had developed a distinctive twitch on her right side , not wanting to eat and being a bit unsteady on her feet... and did not seem right at all. Being an indoor only cat we could rule out lots of causes. We took her into Maryborough Veterinary Practice and it was thought she might have a brain tumor. We took her home and started her on steroids which can have a positive effect on tumors. Unfortunately during the night Marie had one of the worst seizures I have ever seen. She did come out of the seizure but we knew she had deteriorated so we took her back to the vets. We believe by this stage she had lost most of her vision, and was not well at all. It was believed she had a brain tumor, either at the rear of her brain or brain stem, which of course could not be treated, so even if we had her referred to a specialist for an MRI the outcome would be the same and therefore made the heartbreaking decision to send her on her way, and give her the peace she so deserved.

These decisions are so difficult to make but we have to think of what she would have been experiencing and do the right thing for her.
(First two photos are the last ones taken of her)

We have had a horrific month.. which started with newly adopted Samantha having to be put to sleep due to renal failure, Sunny, one of our kittens developing FIP, Spots one of our lovely girls up for adoption being diagnosed with untreatable lymphoma, Potsy our old boy has been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and Sheba our old girl who we saved from euthanasia has hyperthyroidism and so far is not responding to treatment. We are awaiting further bloods. We will always put the health and well-being of our cats first , however painful it may be for us. We thank all our supporters for sticking with us at this terrible time and will keep everyone updated on everyone's progress.
