Went to bendigo dog showing yesterday. So pleased with my little Hazel. I was worried that she wouldnt cope with her first inside show since her previous terrifying experience as it is very noisy. She is improving well and took a nice 11 point challenge and runnerup best of breed. Thanks to NZ judge Mr C Graham. He was so gentle with her.
Cyndi second in puppy class. Didnt really expect her to do well as she is very fat. Need to feed her on her own as she eats everyones left overs lol.
Freya took minor puppy class. Her ring manners are improving.
Jessie took intermediate class and jasper ru in open.

Feeling excited. Finally my transit van has gone for fit out for the dogs. Its been a long time coming.

Sue took cyndi to redcliffs for the weekend shows. No longer in baby puppy she showed first time in minor puppy. A best of breed and minor in group. What a great start in the minor class. Great job sue.

Update on faunus, the little boy who was returned. He has been back for a week now. He has slept through the night, every night. He sleeps in a playpen in my lounge where the wood fire is on low. He is now using his grass toilet. He has a coat on and goes out to play in a small yard next to the girls. He is such a happy boy. I cant fault him. I dont know what the problem is as he has not shown any of the behaviours described by his buyer. Maybe he was cold? Who knows?

Three days of strong competition in the iggy classes has been tiring. I am pleased with my iggy team and will post photos etc when I get home. Its funny how i have been looking forward to this trip but now really looking forward to going home. I have had a great time with good company and ready for the long trip home tomorrow. I really need a good nights sleep tonight if the iggys will move over and let me in to bed.

Sue has gone off to redcliffs for the weekend showing her dogs so i bundled jasper and jessie in with the salukis. They are off to a good start with jasper getting intermediate in group. Jessie has finally settled in the ring now and went very nicely. I am very happy with how she is going now. Hopefully she will have some success over the weekend. Cyndi has also gone along to learn how to be a show dog. Thanks to sue for looking after my dogs and showing them while i stay home with the babies.

Sometimes being a breeder sucks. As many of you know I am slowly making some cutbacks of my dogs. With so many dogs it is impossible to give them the attention that they deserve and I truely believe some will have a better life in the right home and the ones that stay will also be better off
because i will be able to spend more time with them.
Yes I have recently taken on a couple of youngsters. That is what good breeders need to do to have a healthy breeding plan with the aim of improving the breed.
Best went to sydney last week to live with a lovely lady and I know she will have a happy life there and i thank her for the beautiful photos.
Opal will be going soon to a lovely family with mum working from home so she will be lavished with cuddles. Opal is one who wants to be with someone all the time. I know she will be happy there.
So now I have made the heart breaking decission to find the perfect home for Aspyn. He is such a lovely natured boy and this one is particularly difficult for me. He is a healthy 3 yo. And has been desexed, vacinated & microchiped. $2000
He will be advertised on dogzonline soon but i am hoping to find a special home for him before that. He loves being shown so if someone wanted to have a go in the show ring he would be a good one to start with in neuter class. He already has neuter champion title.

A big shout out to Julia (GBK pet transport). She brought her trip forward a day when the weather forcast was not looking good. Thankfully that meant my girl arrived in her new home in sydney yesterday instead of today. That must have been a huge task getting everybodys ok who were sending and receiving dogs on this trip. Now she is travelling the east coast heading to brisbane. She has a very precious saluki pup still on board among others of course. Sue and i have great faith in Julia, thinking of her tho. It must be a difficult trip in this weather.

Puppies are 4 weeks old now and getting around. I have just taken out the whelping box. They are not amused. Now to find them some toys.

I have just recieved these photos of Lenny from his owner Abbie. I bred this little guy and no prizes for guessing who his dad is. He is the image of sonic. Even the same cheeky little smile. He is gorgeous. Thankyou Abbie

Yesterday sue & I left at 7am to go to wangaratta. That was a big fat waiste of time, but thats another story.
On the way home somewhere between wang and yarrawonga we had a flat tyre. We couldnt get the spare to come down out of its cradle so rang racv to be told more than an hour wait. There we were in full sun with 2 iggys, a saluki and a whippet. Thankfully 2 nice men stopped and changed the tyre. We were so grateful to them for helping but only about 10 minutes further down the road, yep another flat. Now we have no spare. At least this time we had shade. We did tell racv we had no spare but obviously it wasnt passed on. After almozt an hour the racv van turned up but of course he couldnt help with no spare tyre so he called a tow truck. We were really worried because they usually wont take dogs. I had visions of sue sitting on the side of a country road with 4 dogs while i went with the tow truck to get the car fixed. It was ages before the tow truck arrived because he had to come from finley but he was really nice and said the dogs could stay in the car on the back of the truck. We really didnt have any other option but i was so stressed about them in the car in full sun. We had windows down a bit and he said they will be ok. Its only about 20km to the tyre depot. When we got there they didnt have any new tyres to fit my car. The truck driver was great and drove around town to different places to find one with tyres to suit but i was feeling sick with worry about the dogs in the hot car. Finally we found a tyre place who had 2 tyres. Yea! They were lovely and we were able to bring dogs into the aircon. They were fine and enjoyed some cool water provided by the girls in the office while we waited for tyres to be fitted. We were very late home after that crazy trip and worried because we both have puppies at home. Very greatful tho to all the people who helped us out. They were all amazing.
