Spirit loves people and thrives on attention and affection. She’s good with other dogs, more often than not choosing to ignore them. She’s untested with cats.
Spirit spent her life with a loving family with children before being surrendered due to very unfortunate circumstances. Although she’s good with kids, Spirit has a tendency to jump up on people when excited so we are looking for an adult only household for this big girl who weighs in at 30 kilos. Spirit is a joy to have in the house - very neat and not destructive.
She’s loves travelling with her people for adventures in the car. She requires a moderate amount of exercise and loves to explore outdoors. A fenced yard would be wonderful but experience with a long lead line would also allow her to experience nature on her outings. Spirit is a strong dog who is a puller on leash so given that’s she’s smart and eager to please, consistent positive training will undoubtedly improve her leash skills. If you’re looking for a loyal best friend who loves nothing more than to be by your side wherever life takes you, Spirit may be the right companion for you.

Pet obesity is an epidemic. Many people feel that food is love, but when that turns into excess weight the consequences can be deadly.
We see a lot of fat dogs. Some come to us overweight, some gain weight after adoption and heck, even sometimes of our fosters get too heavy! As a rescue who works with medical cases, we know all too well how maintaining a proper weight can help reduce joint issues, encourage proper mobility and general overall health. We all need to do better to help our dogs live healthier, longer lives.
Checking your dog's weight is easy with this simple scale. Cutting back on portion size, limiting treats and adding more exercise to your dog's routine are simple ways to keep them trim.
