I own and operate Blue Blazes Farrier Service, LLC, based around the Fayetteville-Southern Pines, NC corridor, and the Charleston, SC area (historically, a farrier is a blacksmith who specializes in hor
seshoeing). Deciding to become a farrier was easy – I just cross-walked my passionate love of people, horses (grew up in central KY), iron-working, problem-solving, decision-making, environmental stewardship, family-time, and free-market capitalism. Within the last 10 months, I took business classes, attended a credentialed horseshoeing school, and worked alongside some of the best farriers in NC, Kentucky, and Georgia to learn as much as I could from as many different experts as possible. Additionally, I participated in the 2014 International Hoof-Care Summit; assisted the Kentucky Horse Park resident farrier, John Veague, during the 2014 Rolex 3-Day International Event in Lexington; have joined professional organizations (American Farrier Association, North Carolina Horseshoers Association), and am steadfastly building a clientele. I have experience working in the hunter/jumper, eventing, dressage, draft, and western pleasure disciplines.
