Building on our skills in regular Wednesday classes for some and beginning to get the understanding of the equipment for others.

We are all on our own training journeys, but Wednesday class makes me proud every week to see everyone supporting and encouragining each other and pointing out the differences they see in the dogs week by week - looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow!

Sometimes we have to consider does the dog see the reward and value the reward as I think they do? Maybe we think food is a high reward but they don't feel the same way, or we try to play with them but our technique is wrong and putting them off, all of the above was discussed over the sessions with this pup recently 🥰

This awesome duo showing off their skills in the woods, whatever we find, we work with - on it, under it, around it or through it! Retrieves covered off in all areas too as well as playing the game of hunting for the trainer that keeps wandering off the tracks 🤣🤣

One dog and his boy 😀🌟⚽️🥅

Beyond the beauty I see in Arlo watching Oliver in goal, I see how he's able to settle beside a pitch whilst a football game is played (80 minutes!) It's lovely to be able to take them with me to the games that allow dogs pitch side 🥰🥰

Calling all scentwork guys!! Afternoon of Halloween style scentwork on Satursay 26th October at the training field. Existing scentwork customers only as the dogs must be able to find the scent. If you would like to join me pop me a message to get booked on, spaces filling quickly! Alternatively if you'd like to start your scentwork journey new classes are coming in the next few weeks so be sure to pop a message over to grab a space! Nat 🐾 🐾

Watch the muzzle go on, means the fun time is coming!! This muzzle is used to protect a delicate stomach from eating something they shouldn't - still has all the freedom to be able to run, sniff, pant, eat and drink. You'll see the food slots through the muzzle easily enough to ensure that they can still eat happily. Awesome work 👏

RECALL!! Most people genuinely try very hard to achieve a reliable recall whether trying to train to whistle or voice but they miss the essential beginning steps of conditioning, or try to practice out and about when the environment is way more distracting and the dogs aren't ready. Then if conditioning has been started the rest all gets rushed through too fast. The biggest hiccup is no use of a long line, to protect your recall at all costs, you're packing all this work in, but: What is your dog practicing??? Getting better at ignoring you, saying hello to everyone and everything they can, chasing animals, eating poo, the list goes on... To achieve a recall like this, you need LAYERS!!! If recall is on your list of things you'd like to work towards in 2024 drop me a message, I'd be happy to help! 🐕🐾🐾
