🐾 Welcome Home, Sumo! 🐾

Last week, this newly adopted kitty managed to sneak out and go on an unexpected adventure. His mom was frantic, searching high and low with no success. She reached out for our help, K9 Red worked his magic and pinpointed Sumo's location.

We planned to return to continue the search, but just a few hours later, Sumo’s determined mom went back to the spot Red had indicated. And guess what? She found her boy!

Sumo is now home safe, though he’s a bit ravenous after his escapade. We’re so relieved and happy for this reunion. Welcome home, Sumo! 🐱🏠

🎉 Welcome home, Shadow! 🎉

We’re overjoyed that this sweet fluffy boy is back safe and sound! After Shadow went missing, his family was understandably worried. Despite him wearing two tracking devices he still could not be traced. Our team quickly sprang into action, and K9 Red did an incredible job tracking Shadow across three estates.

The search led us to a large school field next to the third estate. With Red’s expert guidance, we found him hiding under a storage container. It was such a relief to see Shadow’s familiar face!

🚨HELP NEEDED: MISSING YORKIES 🚨

On September 11th, Benji and Lollie, the beloved male and female Yorkies, along with a 5-week-old Yorkie puppy, went missing from Minnebron, Brakpan following a home robbery. We are still waiting to confirm if they were stolen or if there is another explanation, as we are currently reviewing camera footage.

Please keep an eye out for them and share this message across social media to help us find them. Any information or sightings would be greatly appreciated. Your help could make all the difference in bringing them home safely. 🙏

🕵️‍♂️🐾 Welcome home Lola 🐾🕵️‍♂️

Recently, Lola's family immigrated to South Africa from Qatar, and despite their best efforts to keep Lola safe indoors, she managed to slip outside. Her family was understandably distressed and posted on Facebook, hoping for any leads.

We stepped in to help, bringing along our trusty K9 partner, Red. By the time we got involved, Lola had been missing for a week. Red’s keen nose led us to a specific complex within their estate. Despite our best efforts, Lola was proving to be quite the elusive escape artist, hiding in a way only a displaced cat knows how.

We set up a trail camera and gave Lola's mom some detailed instructions on how to find her. Fast forward to last night, around 10 PM, and we received the most heartwarming message: Lola’s mom had found her! Following our advice meticulously, Lola’s mom heard her cry out and, in that precious moment, they were reunited. She could not believe it!

It’s stories like these that remind us of the power of community and the strength of a family's love. We’re so glad Lola is home safe and sound. Thank you to everyone who shared their posts. Your help made all the difference! 🐱❤️

🐾 Welcome Home, Bailey! 🐾

We are overjoyed to share that Bailey has made it back home safe and sound after quite an adventure! 💛🐱

Bailey went missing last week, and his family quickly became puzzled and worried. Bailey is not one to wander far, and he's always home on time for meals, so when a few days passed with no sign of her, the search intensified.

On Monday, our team along with K9 Red, jumped in to help. Red picked up Bailey's scent, leading us over the back wall of the property. Although we tried to check the nearby house, we were met with three very protective dogs and no one home. Not giving up, Red continued to track Bailey’s scent to the next house, where the sweet resident confirmed she had seen a ginger kitty around her yard for the last few days! The kind neighbor didn’t know Bailey was lost and missing, but thanks to her keen observation, we had a solid lead.

Unfortunately, many neighbors were reluctant to let us check their properties, making the search even more challenging. Still, we didn’t stop! We set up a trail camera and gave Bailey's family some tasks to help. And sure enough, after all the effort and patience, Bailey finally made his way back home last night! 🎉

He was tired and hungry, but is now cozying up with his family, enjoying lots of love and cuddles. ❤️

When it comes to finding lost cats, understanding their unique behavior is crucial. Each case is different, and Bailey’s story is a perfect example of the persistence and teamwork needed for a happy ending.

🌟 Welcome home MJ 🌟

Meet MJ, a sweet Calico who recently gave her family quite a scare when she went missing. MJ never leaves the house, so when her family realized she was gone, they immediately knew something was wrong. After searching everywhere and calling out with no sign of MJ, her worried family reached out to us for help.

Within just 20 minutes of K9 Red tracking, he led us straight to a neighbor's house and insisted on going inside. His keen nose led us to a shed at the back of the property. And guess who was hiding under a braai cover inside the shed? MJ! She was quietly tucked away, not making a sound or move.

The neighbor couldn’t believe her eyes, and MJ’s family was overjoyed to have their sweet girl back safe and sound. They couldn’t thank us enough for our help. 🐾

🎉 Wilson the Ginger Boy is Home Safe! 🎉

Over the weekend, sweet Wilson went missing after getting spooked by a dog. Having just moved into a new home, he wasn't familiar with the area and ended up displaced. His worried mom searched everywhere, but Wilson was nowhere to be found.

Thankfully, we connected with his mom on Tuesday morning and jumped into action the same day. With our trusty K9 partner, Red, leading the way, we tracked Wilson across the road and a few houses down. Red indicated that we needed to check a specific property, taking us straight to a shed in a small, locked courtyard. As soon as the gate was unlocked, Red's nose was glued to the ground, leading us right to where Wilson was hiding.

After carefully checking under the shed, there he was—Wilson, safe but scared. With some gentle coaxing, his mom managed to bring him out after about ten minutes, and we’re thrilled to say that Wilson is now back where he belongs!

🐾 Tiggy’s Return Home! 🐾

Tiggy, a beautiful and beloved cat, recently gave her family quite the scare when she went missing. They searched everywhere, fearing the worst, but a few days later, they reached out to us for help. We immediately responded with our incredible K9 Red, who quickly picked up Tiggy's scent and led us to a nearby hotel just a block away.

It was a challenging environment with dense, overgrown bushes everywhere. K9 Red was particularly interested in one large patch of shrubs, and after some searching, we realized Tiggy was hiding deep within. However, reaching her was a difficult task. We decided to put Red away, hoping that without the presence of a dog, Tiggy might feel safe to come out. Tiggy’s mom returned later that afternoon and called out to her. Tiggy responded, but still, she wouldn’t come out. Despite all efforts, Tiggy bolted and disappeared again, leaving everyone worried.

After a few more days of anxious waiting, we received the best news this morning—Tiggy's mom messaged us to say that Tiggy had finally come home! After two weeks of being lost, Tiggy is now safe, a bit skinnier but otherwise healthy and happy to be back where she belongs.

We are overjoyed that Tiggy’s story has a happy ending and grateful to have played a part in reuniting her with her family. Welcome home, Tiggy! 🐱❤️

🐾 Welcome Home, Katniss! 🐾

This gorgeous kitty went missing almost two weeks ago while visiting a family member while her mom was out of town. Katniss, who was thought to be familiar with the area and wearing a tracking device, managed to get onto the roof and took off—likely spooked by something.

On August 5th, we responded with K9 Red, who indicated that Katniss wasn't far! Unfortunately, we couldn't access some properties we'd hoped to search. Katniss' mom quickly jumped into action, laying down scent trails and doing everything possible to bring her home.

A few days later, K9 Red tracked Katniss to a business property behind their home. With some help, we gained access, and K9 Red picked up strong scent trails near a shed and an overgrown area. A helper on the property mentioned seeing a new cat roaming around and spotted her on the roof and walls. Katniss' mom immediately placed food and more scent in the area. The food was eaten by the next day!

Though Katniss' mom had to leave town again, she returned determined to catch her. We provided a trap, and after just a few days, success! Yesterday, we received this heartwarming message: "Hi Karlene, Katniss found her way to our roof, so we're trying to catch her." And then, minutes later: "I got her."

🐾 Welcome home Stevie 🐾

Last week, Stevie, a stunning young kitty, went missing and gave his family quite a scare. Our K9 team responded on Friday, and K9 Red indicated that Stevie was still inside the complex. We searched garages, gardens, sheds, and every nook we could find, but Stevie, being young and agile, kept outsmarting us and hiding.

We decided to return the next day to continue our search. But early that morning, Stevie's mom sent us the best news—we call it the "1 AM Miracle." Stevie waltzed back home at 1 AM, acting as if he’d never been gone!

This is a perfect example of what we call "flushing" or "bumping." Often, when our K9 team gets close, the cat senses the dog and feels a little pressure, prompting them to head home on their own.

🌟 Johnny is Home! 🌟

Last week Thursday, Johnny went missing, leaving his mom sick with worry. She contacted us immediately, and on Monday afternoon, we responded with K9 Red.

Within minutes, Red tracked Johnny to a neighbor's yard just a few houses down. Although the owner hadn’t seen Johnny, Red’s keen sense indicated he was definitely there! Cats are notorious for hiding and running when they sense a dog nearby.

We decided to switch to Plan B: our trail camera. Johnny’s mom set it up that same evening with some tuna. This morning, she checked the footage and guess who she saw? Johnny!

I coached Johnny’s mom on what to do when she entered the property to prevent him from bolting again. With patience and a keen ear, she heard his meow and got her boy.

Johnny’s mom is ecstatic and still shaking. He is just fine, a little skinnier and dirty, but so happy to be home❤️

🌹 Welcome home Athena 🌹

Recently, Athena, the most beautiful support cat, went missing. Her family searched everywhere but couldn't find her. Desperate and worried, they wasted no time and contacted us for help.

Within a few hours, our team arrived on the scene, and K9 Red jumped into action. In just 10 minutes, Red led us to a drain hole and indicated that Athena had gone inside. We tracked the exit point to a neighbor's yard, where the drain was covered by a heavy grid. Red signaled again, telling us Athena is there!

Peeking inside, we saw poor Athena stuck and in need of help. With some tools and a lot of patience, we managed to open the heavy grid and secure her. Sadly, Athena had blood in her mouth and was rushed to the vet immediately. The vet confirmed that Athena fractured her lower jaw so they are going to place pins in her jaw.

We're hoping for a speedy recovery for Athena and are so grateful for the teamwork and quick response that led to her rescue. 🐾💖

🎉 Reunited with Penny! 🎉

Amidst the chaos of moving into their new home, Penny, a beautiful Persian cat, somehow managed to slip out, leaving her family distraught and searching everywhere for her. Despite Penny wearing a tracking device (itag), she remained elusive.

Desperate to find their beloved pet, Penny's family reached out to us. Our trusty K9 Red quickly joined the search. In just half an hour, Red tracked Penny's scent to an closed storage room inside the complex where construction was underway.

When we opened the door, there she was! Aside from being thirsty and hungry, Penny is doing just fine and is now safely back home with her family.

🐾 Welcome Home, Twix! 🐾

Last week Tuesday, sweet Twix went missing, leaving her family heartbroken and desperately searching for their precious girl. A few days later, they reached out to us zfor help.

On Friday afternoon, our dedicated K9 unit, including the amazing K9 Red, tracked Twix to a house just one street away from her home. However, gaining access proved challenging as the homeowner was initially reluctant to secure his own dog, which distracted Red from his task.

We advised Twix's family to return later in the afternoon once things had "cooled down." Sure enough, when they went back, they found Twix on the same property, safe and sound.

Twix is now back home, unharmed and overjoyed to be with her family again. We are thrilled to have played a part in reuniting Twix with her loved ones.

Welcome home Callie 😁

Callie, a 6-month-old indoor-only kitten, managed to slip outside whilst her humans were out and went missing for two days. This morning, our team, along with K9 Red, responded and tracked Callie's scent to the boundary wall leading to the veld area (please see our previous post about the crime scene). We knew exactly where she was, but with all that was going on, we couldn't continue our search and immediately set up a scent trail.

Two hours later, Callie's mom called us with great news—they found her in their yard, tucked away in a car that was being worked on. We distinctly remember checking that car earlier, and she wasn't there at the time. Callie cleverly made her way to safety amidst all the commotion and ground disturbance.

This morning, our team set out on a search mission to track a missing kitten in the Alberton area. K9 Red did an amazing job, leading us to the kitten's scent trail, which ended at a boundary wall adjacent to a large, dense, and not-so-safe veld area. A helpful neighbor suggested we access the veld through a nearby office park with a gate.

As we made our way, accompanied by security, we suddenly heard two gunshots. The security guard informed us he had to leave immediately and sped off in his car. We decided to return to our client’s property and look over the boundary wall, unaware of what was happening.

Soon, we saw police and additional security personnel scouting the veld. They were searching for a wounded suspect who had managed to escape. A police helicopter began circling above, turning the area into a full-blown crime scene. For our safety, we had to retreat.

We often face dangerous situations, and the wise choice is always to prioritize safety.

Welcome home Tipsy 😀

On the 17th of July, Tipsy, a beautiful and beloved cat, went missing, leaving her owners heartbroken and worried. Desperate to find their precious pet, they contacted our team the very next day, seeking our expertise and assistance. With a large area to cover and challenging terrain, we brought in K9 Red, our dedicated search dog, to help locate Tipsy.

K9 Red faced a tough task with the expansive koppies (hills) around, but our canine companion quickly indicated that Tipsy was nearby. Despite Red's efforts, Tipsy, like a typical displaced cat, had hidden herself well and remained silent, making it difficult to pinpoint her exact location.

Undeterred, we decided to return for a follow-up search two days later. Once again, K9 Red tracked diligently and confirmed that Tipsy was close. To increase our chances, we asked Tipsy's mom to lay a very smelly scent trail, which often proves effective in luring lost cats out of hiding.

The following morning, we received a message from Tipsy's mom with hopeful news. The previous evening, around 9 PM, she and her family took a walk, calling out to Tipsy. To their delight, they heard a faint meow in response. Investigating further, they looked over a neighbor's wall and spotted Tipsy. Although Tipsy was startled and bolted under the neighbor's house, this was a significant breakthrough.

With patience and gentle coaxing, Tipsy's family finally managed to bring her back home, safe and sound. Tipsy's return was a testament to the power of teamwork, determination, and the remarkable abilities of K9 Red. This happy ending serves as a reminder that with the right approach and unwavering hope, even the most challenging situations can lead to joyful reunions.

Welcome home Poppy ❤️

Poppy went missing early yesterday morning near the Montgomery park vlei area. She managed to jump out of their car's window and disappeared without a trace. We responded first thing this morning and within minutes of K9 Red tracking, we heard a dog bark. Just as K9 Red started to track they heard a dog barking. It was Poppy! She was in between the reeds in the vlei and couldn't find her way out. Other than being frightened and dirty from the mud, Poppy is doing just fine 💕

Welcome home Apollo ☺️☺️

UPDATE: Apollo is back home from the vet and doing much better 💕💕

Apollo went missing last week Sunday at Albert's park. His family only got to hear about us on Wednesday and on Thursday we responded. K9 Red ruled out that Apollo was not in the park so we came back on Sunday and put up posters all over the area and Monday morning we had sightings of Apollo!! Within an hour of the first sighting we FOUND Apollo.

The Greymont lost and found pets WhatsApp group has been amazing and a special thanks to Beagle Watch. Apollo was hiding in a koppie and with some pursuing from his family and best buddy Akila we secured him safely.

Apollo is at the vet currently as he has a very high temperature and heart rate. Please keep him in your prayers for a speedy recovery.

Welcome home Emma 💕

Gorgeous Emma went missing over the weekend and we responded shortly after her mom made contact with us. Emma is not known to wander around, but her mom got very worried when she didn't come back home at her usual times.

K9 Red tracked Emma to three other complexes nearby and found an easy entrance & exit point (for a cat) through a boundary wall which was leading from the one complex to the other. K9 Red searched high and low, but the complexes were really big and Red was getting tired after a few hours of working. We opted to do a follow up, but before we could do so Emma found her way back home during the early hours of the morning - as if nothing had happened. Her mom followed our advice and lured Emma back home safely 🥰

Welcome home Sushi 😻

Sushi, the cutest little kitten went missing over the weekend. On Saturday K9 Red was on the scene, it was a rather tough one with a lot of distractions! There were bunnies ALL over, approximately 50 bunnies (and I'm not exaggerating).

K9 Red indicated the neighbours house right next door, but the neighbours weren't there so we could not physically check it out. We searched further and also the large field, but there was no scent. K9 Red confirmed that Sushi was right under our noses!

We were set to do a follow up the next day or two, but about 4 hours after our initial search Sushi's mom messaged me that they've got Sushi. They heard meowing coming from the neighbours yard, by that time the neighbours were home so they asked to check the property and that's where they found Sushi 😄

Welcome home Charlie Bear 🐻

This beautiful grey boy went missing on the 25th of June. We responded 5 days later with K9 Red. K9 Red tracked so hard! There was a lot of scent and K9 Red kept indicating over the walls. Mr Charlie was moving! We went back the next day for a follow up and true as blue, Charlie is moving. K9 Red says we are very close!!!

We left Charlie's mom with lots of homework and she wasted no time and got straight to work.

This morning early he cheekily jumped onto his mom in bed and sounded like a car engine purring and wanting cuddles. Total days missing - 11
He is a bit skinnier, but thankfully not hurt.
