Please remember tail docking and ear cropping are not only unnecessary they are illegal in terms of the animal protection act.

Our Special Projects Unit fights violent crimes like dog-fighting and hunting wildlife with dogs. But they’re also out there making sure that show dogs are not subjected to cruel physical alterations for "looks".🐕

Recently, Inspector Kok visited an American Bully show event in Gauteng to check whether any of the dogs had been physically mutilated for aesthetics. The NSPCA is opposed to any physical alteration of animals, unless the procedure is necessary for the wellbeing of the animal.

Unfortunately, she had to issue several warnings in terms of the Animals Protection Act, for dogs that had been ‘maimed’, an illegal practice including tail docking and ear cropping.❌🐶

No matter the species, no matter the breed, we’ll continue fighting for animals across South Africa.💙

While most people are winding down in December we head into our busiest part of the year.

We please ask you to help us with the following so things flow better for you, our staff and your pets.

Please book your appointments.
Unless it’s a true emergency. Arriving without an appointment means you will have to wait for appointments to be seen first and also throws out our bookings. Please we would like to give every patient the time they deserve and not have to rush to fit in walk ins

Please book properly
Booking a nail clipping which is a ten minute appointment and then having other health issues you want checked is not fair to your pet or us. We cannot do a proper check in ten minutes. Please let reception know exactly what you are needing so they book proper time for you. You will need to reschedule if we don’t have the appropriate time booked off for what you requested.

Show up on time
Late appointments mean our entire day then runs late which is not fair to the clients who are on time. If you cannot help this please let us know so we can reshuffle.

If you can no longer make your appointment please cancel so we can give it to someone else. Don’t just not pitch.

Don’t book one appointment and bring extra pets to be seen. We can’t squeeze extra into a time allocated for one.

Needing vaccinations or calming medications?
Don’t leave it until the last minute. Book early.

Make sure you order your pets chronic medication in advance.
When busy this is often only done at the end of the day or when there is time so you may have a delay in getting these.
