Why it's important to teach a dog door manners

Teaching your dog to walk calmly through a doorway rather than dash out is a great skill to maintain harmony and safety inside the home.

If your hand on the door handle cues your dog to get ready to charge through the door, you might want to train a calm alternative behaviour.

➡ A dog rushing through the door may clash with another dog or person.
➡ If the door leads to the outside, there is also a risk from cars.

Training a calm behaviour around doors can make home life more peaceful.

Some clients ask about my own pets....here they are.
My Labby Rockey is the blue-eyed boy in the house. The only reason for Rockey looking so sad is: mommy will be leaving soon for work 🥺
Tofee the Jack Russel is my daughter's shadow and the one that cuddles hubby when I cook.
Tyla the cat obviously rules the household she is also Rocky's best friend...when her frenemy Toffee is not around... apparently Tyla and Toffee doesn't see eye to eye...but strangely Toffee keeps on going back for more kitty slaps daily.🤣
