Libion

Libion Has been working with horses for 10 yrs now. Libion started working with Lauren, and says he wouldn't want to work for anyone else.

He has completed his qualifications over the years over a few courses, and passed his last test with a percentage of 92.5.
He loves to watch both showjumping and dressage. Has even helped out at SANESA with course walks when instructors are running around.
He has ridden once before in 2017 on Victory but says he doesn't wants ride again because he is scared to fall off

Favorite horse and why?
Libion says he loves all the horses but he has two favorites which are Secret keeper & Savanah because they both listen to him and are well behaved.

Peter

Peter has been working with horses for 6 years now, he started his venture with horses with Lauren.

He has completed his qualifications over the years and passed his last test with 88%
He prefers showjumping to dressage but enjoys the turnout and seeing the result of how stunning the horses look once he is done.

Peter has ridden once before a long time ago on the famous Mr King and says he would like to start learning how to ride again.
Favorite horse and why?
Peter says even though he dislocated my shoulder my favorite horse would be Damascus mainly because he is so beautiful and is always full of life every day is something new.

Walter

Walter is one of the newest members of the 5th Ave family and has only been working with horses for 7 months now, he started with Lauren.

He has already completed his qualifications with an incredible result of 89% on his test.
Walter said he loves to watch both showjumping and dressage but likes jumping more as leaves him buzzing, but if he rides he prefers dressage because he is scared of falling off.
Walter has ridden a few horses with us and loves learning, he has ridden the following horses County, Ziggi, Ideal day, William, George and Flowerman. He said favorite to ride was definitely William.
Favorite horses and why?
Walter loves every horse with his whole heart and gets very attached he is an extremely caring person, his answer to my question was County was one of my favorites because she was the first horse I ever rode but now I love Adjoa as she always keeps me alert and on my toes you can never lose concentration around her.

Emmanuel

Emmanuel has been working with horses for 8 years now, he started his venture with horses with Lauren, her second go to man.

He has done many equine qualification courses over the years and is super knowledgeable! Emmanuel passed his last test with a percentage of 94.

He is always there to help everyone no matter the job with a big smile and a giggle. (Always giggling)
Emmanuel says he prefers to watch showjumping over dressage as it's more exciting but still likes both disciplines.

Favorite horse and why?
Emmanuel giggled for 10min before answering the question but said he loves all his horses for different reasons, but if he has to only choose one it would be Rayban because of his general presence, his size and the fact that he is such an eye catcher.

MacNeil

Mac, as we all call him, has been working with horses for 15 years now and has been with Lauren since day one as her right hand man.

He has done many equine courses over the years and is extremely knowledgeable! If we have a loose shoe or need to remove one, we call on Mac, if we have a horse being a handful, we call on Mac. He is always our go to guy and is always ready to lend a hand!

He started riding 12 years ago, learning the ropes on the magnificent Levi who he has cared for, for the last 15 years! He rides Dressage and has even competed up to prelim!

Favorite horse and why?
Mac said he loves all the horses not just his own as he cares for each and every one of them through out the yard, but if he has to answer my question the answer would be, of course, Levi because he was the first horse he ever rode and learned Dressage on!

On December 7th, we had the privilege of hosting the Grooms Championship Dinner, an event dedicated to honoring the hard work and dedication of our exceptional grooms.

We are deeply grateful for all that they do, from the early morning turnout for shows to their everyday duties and late evenings spent caring for our horses. Their commitment plays a crucial role in the success of our team.

This year, we were excited to introduce a "Groom's Best Turnout" class as part of our Dressage Series. The initiative aimed to involve grooms in the show atmosphere, allowing them to showcase both themselves and the horses they care for. The response was overwhelmingly positive, and we are thrilled to continue this class in the years to come.

The dinner was a celebration of their success throughout the series and a heartfelt thank you for their unwavering support.

A special thank you to everyone who helped set up, prepared gifts, and contributed to making this evening truly unforgettable. It was a beautiful and memorable night for all.

We are always so grateful to SPCA Benoni, Gauteng, South Africa for being such excellent and diligent partners in animal welfare. We appreciate our annual check-ins and we are always keen to see where we exceed the standards and where there are new ideas that we can introduce to maintain our status as a top class Stable Yard.
