Animal Health and Hydro (AHAH) AHAH is a physical rehabilitation facility for dogs and cats. We also manage chronic pain. We offer numerous treatments and combinations thereof.

Animal Health and Hydro (AHAH) is a facility registered with the South African Veterinary Council. Our facility is Veterinary owned and managed. Some of the Canine and Feline conditions treated at AHAH include:

- Post-operative orthopeadic rehabilitation
- Spinal surgery
- Knee surgery inlcuding cranial cruciate ligament disease, TPLO rehabilitation and luxating patellas
- Total hip replacements

and femur head amputations
- Limb fractures
- Elbow incongruency

Some of the other problems we can help with:

- Pain management
- Osteoarthritis including: hip and elbow displasia
- Stroke patients
- Obesity
- Epilepsy
- Chronic wounds and degloving injuries
- Acral lick granulomas
- Geriatrics
- Non-surgical intervertebral disc disease (Common in the Dachshund, but not restricted to this breed)
- Soft tissue injuries including muscle and tendon damage
- Cancer patients

AHAH also offers fitness training for dogs. We can introduce young dogs and cats to water. The facility also offers Reiki sessions for animal companions. We work on an appointment only basis to ensure each patient gets the individual attention they need. The Goldfields Dog of the Year Event is an annual competition where dogs from various working disciplines compete for prestigious prizes. Awards are given to the winners of the Police Dog class and the Tracker Dog III class in the Working Trials Classic. The winners are determined based on the highest percentage scores achieved at The Goldfields Kennel Club Championship Show during the same year as the event.
Vom Paladin Iara competed in this event in September, winning the event with an Excellent Qualifying Certificate.
Iara visits Animal Health and Hydro every two weeks for underwater treadmill sessions to help with her fitness as well as laser and massage sessions to keep her muscles in top condition. Iara is also on an extensive home exercise program between sessions to keep her supple and strong.
We love seeing the hard work and dedication our clients and patients put into their dog sports, enable them rise to the top of their game

Shoni would accompany her brother Maddox during his sessions at Animal Health and Hydro (AHAH) in Benoni. In 2017, Shoni became a patient at AHAH Benoni after injuring her cruciate ligament. Since then, we have been seeing Shoni weekly for acupuncture, laser therapy, massage therapy, and underwater treadmill sessions. On Saturday, November 30, 2024, Shoni celebrated her 15th birthday. Happy birthday, Shoni! We hope you enjoyed all your birthday treats.
