🐾 Important Update on Our Adoption Process 🐾

To ensure the best outcomes for our animals and adopters, we’ve made an important change: we will no longer hold animals without a deposit.

Here’s why:

•We’ve waited weeks for payments or for people to fetch their puppy, using resources like petrol for home checks and meet-and-greets.

•After holding an animal for weeks, some adopters decide not to follow through, leaving the animal in limbo.

•Other potential adopters are turned away because the animal was considered “adopted.”

This is unfair to the animals and to serious adopters. We trust you’ll understand this change is necessary to help us continue doing what we love – finding perfect forever homes for our rescues.

Trying to Do the Right Thing

Today, I came across someone giving away Pitbull x Boerboel puppies on Facebook. Knowing the risks of giving such puppies away to just anyone, I offered to take the babies in. I also offered to have the mom sterilized in January to prevent future litters.

In my first comment, I forgot to leave my number, so I added it later. Out of nowhere, someone commented, accusing me of being pushy and obnoxious.

I’ve read my comments at least 200 times, trying to see where I could’ve come across as rude. Maybe I was a bit pushy—because giving away puppies like these for free can be a disaster waiting to happen—but I truly had the best intentions.

I’m still in shock. I don’t understand why people feel the need to attack those who are only trying to help. It’s disheartening when we pour our hearts into rescue work, often sacrificing so much, only to be met with criticism.

To anyone reading this: please remember that rescuers aren’t perfect, but our intentions are always to do what’s best for the animals. This work is already so emotionally draining—kindness would mean the world.

To those who support us and see the bigger picture, thank you. Your encouragement keeps us going.

‼️Update on burnt puppy‼️ I made it through the night and I’m walking on my own 🥳🥳 I do however need someone to rub my bum to go to the bathroom and I’m still very sore but I am definitely feeling better 💙 We are now in desperate need of goats milk. If anyone know of someone selling goats milk in the East Rand please let us know. We have bought a few at Woolworths but they did inform us that there is a shortage.
