Des Fountaine Horse Training Riding lessons, Training, Marketing We specialize in teaching new riders the skills to compete at the National level.

With a combined training experience of over 40 years, Des Fountaine Training provide Horse training, marketing, evaluations and lessons for beginners to advanced riders. We take a limited number of horses in training and are able to spend more time meeting each horses individual needs on a daily basis.

-Ring positioning: What is it and how do you do it. We teach these and many other skills on a daily basis to our riders. We also have a very good track record in turning difficult or hard to train horses around and having them compete successfully in high level competition. “There are colts I’ve loped in the first five or 10 rides and then there are some colts I didn’t lope for the first 60 rides. It’s part of developing a feel for what your horse is thinking. A horse will tell you when he’s ready to go to the next step. It’s your job to listen to him and go to the next step when it’s time, not to push him to a step he’s not comfortable with.
