Terribly sad to think that animals have to be relocated for man's greed..
They cry about it costing millions but what about the poor animals having to relocate from where they have lived for 1000s of generations..And might loose their life (an already endangered species)..
When are ppl and will ppl ever reach, enough is enough..
I am all about change, but change that is for a better future for all involved not just for one sides greed..

After millions of dollars and several years, a rare success has been achieved in one of the strangest and most scrutinised animal relocation projects in history.

Sharing this very important info..

PLEASE do not get an opposite gender for your chin just because it's lonely..
This is considered backyard breeding because there is no info on your chins linage..

If you want to breed, then please do it correctly by buying from a reputable breeder with good quality and proven lines..So as to not breed incorrect chins with all sorts of issues that will end up in euthanasia due to the poor animal suffering from defects that could have been prevented if you did the right thing and educated yourself better on ethical breeding..

It is such a vast subject, but a true genuine breeder would make a careful assessment on your attentions and then help you into the right direction and keep helping you along your breeding journey, not just sell chins to you and let you go your merry way.. That in my sight is not an ethical breeder..You are responsible for the generation of chins either bred from you or to those you sell to..

So please do not take breeding lightly, do it because you have a passion to better the quality of life for chins as well as bettering the overall quality in a whole..

Then secondly, if your chin is lonely, please get in contact with a breeder and follow the correct steps in the bonding process, as it can be a very stressful and dangerous process if not done correctly.

If you need any help with this, please don't hesitate to reach out to us, as we will help you along this journey. And you need to be prepared especially with males that there is a chance it might not work out, and either need a second cage to keep them separately next to each other till they have bonded, or look at neutering them..
Unfortunately males do have high levels of testosterone and territorial tendancies..

So please reach out to some who knows what they are doing to help you in this process..

Do not ADOPT animals to breed.
Do not place them in breeding situations.

Animals purchased from petstores or adopted from rescues are not supposed to be bred, you don't know what their genetic history is.

If you own a male, adopt or purchase another male.
If you own a female, adopt or purchase another female.

They don't need " boyfriends " or " girlfriends ".

If they want a companion, a same s*x companion will do.

If your teacher is an educator in animal science, agriculture, animal care, or any related field, and they suggest sending you home with animals or ask you to collect animals for a breeding assignment:

- Do not contact animal rescues for animals.
- Do not go to pet stores for animals.
- Do not browse Craigslist for animals.

Breeding animals should come from pedigreed lines, be evaluated by a judge, and be carefully paired to complement and improve their traits—not just to create a flashy color.

When teachers encourage students to source animals for breeding from anywhere else, they are fostering the next generation of backyard breeders and carelessly ignoring the welfare of the animals involved.

Do better.

As educators, you understand the importance of strong foundations—apply that knowledge to animal breeding as well.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE...

Do your research before buying a chinchilla from any breeder, or that breeder should provide as much info as possible so that you can make the right decision..
And do not support pet shops, back yard breeders or most rescues, WHY? Because the rescues come mostly from back yard breeders and so you keep the demand going for back yard breeders to keep doing what they are doing.. Please be aware of this..
As well as rescues and back yard bred chins have a very short life span due to inbreeding and incorrect feeding..

Reputable breeders take extra care in their breeding programs to avoid health issues and to ensure to the best of their ability better quality and healthier chins..

Make sure they can give you lineage and correct colouring of your chins, so many back yard breeders don't know how to identify the actual colours..

And make sure you do research in what quality is supposed to look like, and if the chins are not of good quality, do not buy..
You are not only going to sit with vet bills and heartache, but you are creating a reason for backyard breeders to carry on..
If you are wanting to rescue, some breeders can point you in the right direction, as many back yard breeders end up becoming rescues because they weren't selling as breeders, so the next best thing is becoming a rescue..

So please take caution and make sure you do your research and reach out to reputable breeders..
