🚨 CRITICALLY LOW ON FOOD – URGENT PLEA FOR HELP 🚨

The Brakpan SPCA is facing a critical food shortage and we are turning to our community with hopeful hearts.

We are currently down to:
🐾 6 x 25kg bags of adult dog food
🐾 6 x 40kg bags of adult dog food
🐾 1 x 25kg bag of puppy food
🐾 Very low on both cat and kitten food

This stock will not last long, and with so many hungry mouths to feed every single day, we are truly desperate. 💔

We understand how tough times are right now for everyone—but even one bag of food, a tin, or a small donation can make a massive difference.

🐾 The Great Escape... Almost! 🐾

For days, we were getting calls and messages about a cheeky little doggo hanging around the municipal offices. Small to medium in size, full of sass — and even more speed! Every time we got close, zoom! Off the fluff went, leaving us behind in a puff of dust.

Frustrated but not defeated, our Inspector Zivai had a chat with Mariska and Tamaryn. A plan was hatched (cue spy music 🎶) and off went Zivai, Operation Sneaky Pup in full swing. But here's the catch (pun intended)... setting a trap without someone to watch it 24/7? Not ideal. And sadly, our team is stretched thin with so many other responsibilities.

Then came our hero — Arina! 💛 No hesitation. No complaints. Just compassion. Arina had also spotted the little wanderer and knew we needed help. She put up her hand and said, “I’ve got this.”

And guess what? The plan worked! 🥳 This morning, that little runaway was finally brought in safely thanks to Arina’s help and kindness. From all of us — and especially from the fluffy one now snoozing in safety — thank you, Arina! 🐶👏

📣 We kindly remind the public to please visit the pound regularly if your pet goes missing. Photos don’t always capture the unique charm (or dirt-covered disguise) of a missing furry family member. Come see for yourself — you might just spot your missing best friend.

After 4 beautiful years with the Donker Family, little Daisy's time came to cross the Rainbow Bridge. We share our condolences to the Donker Family on the passing of the beautiful little Daisy. We know you cherished her so much. Much love from us all at the Brakpan SPCA.
