The Myth states that dogs can eat human food, but this is not entirely true. While dogs can tolerate some human foods, many are harmful or unbalanced for canine consumption.

Here’s why:
1. Nutrient imbalance: Human food lacks the balanced mix of protein, fat, carbohydrates, vitamins, and minerals that dogs require.
2. Toxic ingredients: Chocolate, onions, garlic, grapes, raisins, and macadamia nuts are toxic to dogs.
3. Food allergies: Dogs can develop allergies to human foods, leading to skin issues and digestive problems.
4. Obesity: Human food is often high in calories, leading to weight gain and obesity in dogs.
5. Digestive issues: Human food can cause stomach upset, diarrhoea, and vomiting in dogs.

Some human foods that are safe for dogs in moderation include:
1. Carrots
2. Green beans
3. Sweet potatoes
4. Pumpkin
5. Apples (without seeds or core)

2. Fatty foods:
- Fried foods

- Rich sauces and gravies
3. Bones and seeds:
- Cooked bones (can splinter and cause digestive issues)

*Dog Feeding Tips
Maintaining a consistent feeding schedule is important for several reasons:

1. Digestive health: A regular schedule helps regulate your dog's digestive system, preventing digestive upset and promoting healthy bowel movements.
2. Weight management: Consistent feeding times help maintain a healthy weight, reducing the risk of obesity and related health issues.
3. Energy levels: A regular schedule ensures your dog has a steady energy supply, preventing sudden spikes or crashes.
4. Training and behaviour: A consistent feeding schedule can help with housebreaking and training, as dogs learn to associate certain times with meals.
5. Reducing anxiety: A predictable feeding schedule can reduce your dog's stress and anxiety related to meal times.

Busting the myth! 1 human year is not equal to 7 dog years. The real deal? Dogs mature faster in the early years, and their ageing pace changes over time!

A more accurate calculation is:

- 1 human year ≈ 15 dog years (for the first 2 years)
- 1 human year ≈ 5 dog years (for years 2-5)
- 1 human year ≈ 3 dog years (for years 5-10)
- 1 human year ≈ 2 dog years (for years 10+)

This means:

- A 1-year-old dog is equivalent to a 15-year-old human
- A 2-year-old dog is equivalent to a 24-year-old human
- A 5-year-old dog is equivalent to a 36-year-old human
- A 10-year-old dog is equivalent to a 56-year-old human
- A 15-year-old dog is equivalent to a 75-year-old human
