Update: Uber is in his forever home. Dumped in an Uber at DARG and still waiting. 😔We simply don't understand how other cats are being adopted and this beautiful boy is still waiting patiently. His little face looks enquiringly at every person who comes to his window. Uber is loving, calm, gentle and good with other cats. His forever home must be out there somewhere. We are not sure of his age but he is a young cat. Please share his pic so his finds his mum or dad.

It is with a heavy heart we share the passing of Janie Budd. She made an enduring impact on the lives of animals and humans alike, having joined the veterinary profession in 2002 and contributing her compassion and expertise at Avalon Vet, now Ou Kaapse Vet.

Janie wasn’t just an exceptional professional; she had compassion, warmth, and care in every interaction. Her unwavering commitment to the well-being of animals was a testament to her compassionate soul. Janie had a comforting presence; she would open her arms, offering the solace of a warm hug.

The void created by her absence is immeasurable, and we grieve the loss of a dear friend. The veterinary community says goodbye to an extraordinary individual whose absence will be deeply felt.

We invite you to share any stories or memories you have of Janie as we collectively honor the remarkable person she was.

My name is Gypsy. I am a youngish male cat (estimated 3-5 years old) in desperate need of a loving home.

Unfortuantely I was not getting along with other cats in my household, and the kind people at Steeneberg Vet have offered to look after me until I can find my forever home, which is hopefully soon.

At first I was scared of this new place and the people, however the more love I get, the more love I want. I do enjoy getting my back scratched and I am even giving head-butts to say I want more!

I am sure that with the right home, a little bit of time and lots of love I will come out of my shell even more and become a big black fur-ball of love and cuddles.

Please, can someone give me a chance 🙏

If you are interested in meeting him, or even able to help foster him temporarily in a secure place, please get in touch. We will ensure he is fully vaccinated, de-wormed and de-flead and microchipped.
