Hi . Many of you may be wondering why I been so quiet over the last few months. Sorry for the long post but here goes..
My life has certainly changed quite radically! My husband (who is a golf pro) was offered an amazing job coaching golf in..wait for it ..China! It was an opportunity that we couldn't turn down so he started coaching at the end of January. That meant that I had to literally sell up everything that we own as I could only come with 3 suitcases. Our landlord sold our house and I had to sell up, donate ,give away virtually everything. It was a rollercoaster of emotions and there were days where I literally sat and cried as I didn't know how I was going to get through it on my own. Luckily a few of my amazing friends came through and helped me get through it. I have never felt so exhausted in my whole life. I will forever be grateful for those that stood by me and literally held my hand through it all. Emigrating is definitely not for sissies!
Not only did I have get rid of all my possessions but I had to make the heartbreaking decision to close my doggy boarding business (the Woofshack) which has been my life for the past 10 years. Then of course was my beloved Woofcakes. I have put my heart and soul into it and have loved every minute of designing, creating, baking and decorating all the beautiful cakes for all the amazing doggies over the last 4 years. I wasn't sure what I was going to do!
One of my lovely Woofshack clients who has become a friend over the years begged me not to close it and asked if she could take it over and promised that she would love it and nurture as I have.
So Eve Calitz will be taking over the reigns from about the end of May. Please support her and give her the chance to continue creating beautiful cakes and pupcakes for all your precious doggies. Her number is 0832314865.
Unfortunately social media is banned in China so will have limited access to my accounts. For some reason I cannot access Woofcakes on Instagram so cannot get messages there or post so hoping most of you will see this post.
I have been in China for just over 2 weeks now and life is certainly very different here! I am slowly adjusting to the way of life here, the food, the culture and the humidity! It was amazing to be be reunited with my hubby again. I am going to give myself a bit of time to come down to earth a bit and hopefully get to share some of my adventures with you all.
Much love to you all
Cathy xx
