We went to uplift the mom with the 5 puppies to be told that the puppies had all died - that is in a space of a day. No doubt handed out as soon as their eyes open which is the norm. We were told to remove the mom as she kept getting pregnant and they no longer wanted her - sterilization was offered but no Mom must go, She is currently in foster and by chance there is a puppy that was removed too young from its mom that she is now feeding. There is nothing worse than seeing these mother dogs after all their pups get traded out and they sit there full of milk and sad eyes, How people think puppies of 3 weeks can survive without their moms I do not know, Luckily this one has a hapy ending in that she is now a surrogate mom,
We have to increase our sterilization program this year - it is the only way to stop this from happening, We have 5 areas that we have been asked to help sterilize in so will be pushing hard to get moms like this lives better. Stop the breeding, end the cruelty.
These little pups were uplifted off a street today by another org - they are currently in temporary kennels being treated for mange as we needed to uplift them urgently. They are parvo and distemper negative, They will be vaccinated tomorrow. They are a bit mangy but will be beautiful in a week or so and are urgently in need of fosters - they definitely have lab in them. They are in Cape Town - please message us if you can assist.
The worm shakes - we see it so often if the pups are not dewormed early enough they shake and shake, It cklears up after deworming,these little ones were dewormed and vacced today.
Cody went into his foster to home yesterday and by the look of it he has settled in Beautifully.
The rickets pup finally tape free - her legs should straighten in a few weeks.

Party time in the informal area today so the music was loud every where- Jada the brindle dog seemed tp have something to show us and took us to the new pup in her kennel. The pup is tied apparently so she wont get stolen,
Second dog on the property the same rane of space to move around in - her nails are so long from not walking its so bad and still acceptable for the owner and neighbors for her to life like this.
Take a look at the range of movement this yong dog has - perhaps half a meter at the most and an owner who does not see this as wrong.

We uplifted the little white maltese x today and into the bath tub she went in Abigails care.
Our once tied to the pole old dog has his freedom thanks to a gate and some wire that was donated. You can see how happy he is to see us - Dogs know, they always know. When we met him he was ready to bite my hand off due to how he was tied and treated - now he is just a softy.
