This is advanced distember - its now neurolofical and the dogs fits and fits and often the screams they emit just terrible. When its at this level we can do nothing to help them. We push hard for vacination clinics as R 100 a vac to prevents this, This owner has 4 unvacinated dogs - chances of the other 3 going the same way 100 % as its so contagious, They refused to sterilise wanting to breed, now we have to help them else we get another distemper outbreak. Please please vacinate your puppies. all 3 vacs to prevent this, This pup went in to be euthanised - very sad end to the day. We have an option of a primary Vet clinic to start soon which is going to help prevent this if all comes together. Sleep softly little one.

There is nothing better than kittens playing. The pretty calico has discovered toys - what a life she is now living, far from the cold wet gutter she was found in.
Cindy with the bionic leg is finally putting weight on it - if you had seen the crushed bone the vet had to work with you would know its quite a miracle. She is looking so happy. Thank you to Dr Morne at Cottage vet and Jeanne for taking such good care of her. Our vets bills make our eyes bleed but when we see this it makes it worth while. So wonderful to see her so happy.

Puppies needing Foster
This mom and 9 puppies has come in from the Paarl area where they were stuck out in the open. They are now in Abigails capable care. The puppies are really pretty and we will need foster / forever homes as soon as possible. Mom is a small type Africanis, she is very thin so hopefully we can wean the pups fast. So many puppies of late my head spins but rather they inside a warm house than in an open field. So many people were involved in her rescue- thank you to every one . If you can foster or would like to home a pup please contact Jo-Jo Bayvel .
So a life changes - Thank you Yvonna for helping Rusty
Where are the childrens parents that allow this ?
Yesterday we came across a group of children racing and whipping horses in the one street - sjamboks flying and horses heaving it was terrible to see. I managed to drag two of chidren off the horses and sent them home with threats of death and disease. This morning we were told of children beating a horse in another street, We are told in rescue to educate - first priority is education. Perhaps I missed something but what did the horse do to deserve this treatment and how do you educate to erradicate this behavior. You will see in the next video new children beat the same horse.
With help from Rowan Ferreira and SPCA this poor girl was confiscated and we wait for further action. Cruelty like this needs to have repercusions beyond any educational capacity. The horses in this area are so abused, I call them the jellyfish ponies because their souls are so broken they do not reconise anything any longer not even pain.
We are told its a cultural right to own horses hence they are not protected by the APA to the degree dogs and cats are - no horse should be allowed to be kept in the conditions I see them in. Tied up abused and starved behind informal houses. There are the famous lyrics of a very sad song"But let's not talk of love or chains and things we can't untie " unfortunetly in life we have to untie things - animal abuse cannot be protected by any cultural right and its time that was reconised.
As for this person in the video - the Romans had a great use for humans like him and this is Africa and I am sure we could find a hungry lion or three. Perhaps jail time will educate him far better than I can.
Our once left out in the rain girl, Tosca, is doing so well - so wonderful to see this and how forgiving are dogs. She is so happy definetly a video to make our week. Adopt please it is so worth the reward of giving a dog happiness
