Mornings with Sebastian ❤️
Kneading or “making biscuits” as it’s adorably known, is a little kitty behaviour we’ve all seen, and if you’ve been wondering what it means, here are some reasons: • Most commonly, they’re showing you they’re comfortable and content, and that they love you and want to show it. • Sometimes they’re marking their territory because their paw pads release pheromones and the scent can let other kitties know, “this lap belongs to me!” • Cats in the wild “nest” in foliage, so kneading the area would not only make it soft and comfortable for them and their babies, but also be a method of checking for dangerous or hurtful things hidden in the brush. • At times cats knead when they’re in distress so it’s good to look out for other signs your kitty may be injured if they display an increase in frequency of kneading. • Female cats knead when they’re in heat, otherwise known as oestrus. This may be accompanied by other behaviour such as being overly vocal, an increase in affection and an increased interest in going outdoors, so be on a look out if you haven’t had your cat spayed yet.
