From flicking his toes to following his nose! Kaylin and Capone had their first hunt together today for Bye Day and it was magic! As good as they are in the show ring, they are even better on the hunt! This is both of their happy places!

Delayed post but we are SO proud of kaylin terblanche and Westland's Al Capony in their first sanesa. 2 thirds, 2 seconds, 2 firsts. Capone is a green pony getting some milage under a very capable jockey and we are thrilled with this pair!!!

We want to congratulate Cara du Plessis and Westland's Al Capony on a spectacular season hunting with Cape Hunt Club as well as their participation in the hunter trials with a beautiful clear round. Al Capony has gone from a Wynberg garage to becoming a super all rounder thanks to Cara's hard work and dedication. We are excited to see him debut in the showing ring shortly with a new child rider. Watch this space!

So Cara du Plessis climbed onto Velvet for the first time yesterday and it couldn't have gone any better. This horse has a lovely calm nature.

We've had a quiet winter prepping horses for the upcoming show season. I'd like to announce that all of our horses have their PADI1 by now and while they might not be able to showcase that particular skill in the reining and performance arenas, they are amped and ready for the new season of Western Cape Reining Club and National Reining Horse Association South Africa shows.

We are especially proud of Westland's Al Capony who has been hunting with the cape hunt this winter season and with his 12.2 hands of power and springy legs will be moving into show jumping, showing and dressage with his new child rider before we put him on the market to sell. Hats off to cara du plessis for producing him to this point.

I'd like to also give a special shout out to our amazing staff here at westland who have literally faced all elements this winter looking after our horses. Ishmael, Eric and Messiah are 💎 💎 💎

We have many exciting things coming up which will be announced very soon! Stay tuned and get excited guys! Show season is close!!!

The best photos I managed today, better ones coming, but we are SUPER proud of Westland's Al Capony for doing the opening hunt with Cape Hunt today! He loved every minute! This is going to be an incredible 1ST PONY for a very lucky kid!!

Shot in the dark here but is anyone looking for spelling for c**ts? It seems everyone had fillies this year!

We've got a 3 month old qh c**t and the land to spell him on but we are lacking 2 or 3 other c**ts to do it. This would be a herd environment, live out with shelter. Ours is going to be weaned in July so ideally this herd would be created around that time but that could be flexible. Let me know!

After many requests HERE IT IS! Our extreme trail class at March Madness has become something riders want to try! This is the opportunity. Non-show environment, work slowly through each obstacle with assistance and de-spook your horse! The obstacles are all 100% horse safe but definitely ask big questions. School each obstacle in your own time and then put it together to ride the course! It's going to be a great outing for riders and horses from every discipline!

Absolutely late post about March Madness. Our riders came out in FULL FORCE I'm most impressed with the reiners that amended their plans because of the going. It was just too wet to even try guys.

We were all in agreement not to run reining patterns for safety but our open and intermediate performance riderrs shined like the sun on Sunday!

It was so unfortunate to cancel the reining but horses welfare comes first and we have two shows in April! 1 of which is an international with Eugonio Lattore! Judges course to follow!

This pony is going to make some kid really happy in 2023!

Somewhat educational post here. The cape cobra is an important part of our ecosystem here on the west coast. While highly venomous, we take every effort to relocate these snakes rather than kill them if they invade our space. Mr. Slithers, approx 1.5m in length, was an older cape cobra that decided our feed room would be a great new home...it isn't. It's too much of a risk to have these guys near any of our horse infrastructure so we caught him, bagged him up and drove him away to start a new life on government land near Chatsworth. Really beautiful snake though!
