This is Nacho average Tuesday... It's Taco Twosday 🌮 for Nachie with handmade ACANA South Africa tacos (recipe below). Who's going to try this spec-taco-lar recipe?

How to make the tacos using ACANA South Africa
- Use 1 cup of Acana
- Soak in water for 2 hours
- Next, drain the Acana and express excess water and add kibble to blender.
- Add 2 teaspoons of salt-free, sugar-free peanut butter, half a mashed banana and one egg. Blend.
- Add a little bit of self-raising flour to mix to get it to a dough consistency.
- Add a pinch of turmeric for that corn colour (turmeric has brilliant healing properties for animals!).
- Roll the dough out and cut out circles (I used a drinking glass instead of a cookie cutter).
- Halve the circles to make the sides of the tacos
- Bake at 180 degrees Celsius for 20 minutes.
- Once baked & cooled down, assemble the tacos...

Use the straight sides of each circle (i.e. where you halved it) and join it at a 45 degree angle with peanut butter. I cut a rectangular square from one of the additional halves and used this as base to join both halves of the circle with peanut butter - this will help get that cupped look of a taco. Let it set in fridge.

Then fill the taco:
- For the meat: liver treats
- For lettuce: tiny chopped green apple
- For salsa: tiny chopped strawberries
- For cheese: slivers of mango
- For sour cream: a drizzle of plain yoghurt

It's a scorching 33 degrees where we are right now. Capetonians, please don't walk your doggies when it's so hot outside. It takes just 1 second on the hot tar to burn your dog's paws.

Nachie's 5th birthday is coming up on 21 January, and the hoomin's 40th birthday on 25 February (yes, she's old AF!). To celebrate, we're raising funds in aid of South African Guide-Dogs Association for the Blind. Our goal is to raise R10,000 to help a litter of puppies be trained to become qualified Guide, Service and Autism Support Dogs. Did you know that it costs over R100,000 to train a fully qualified Assistance Dog? So our fundraiser will only be a drop in the bucket but hopefully a significant one to help more doggos help people. We initially started the fundraiser in July last year but with the then riots, we decided to pause it. And our birthdays felt like the right time to restart the fundraising. So the good news is that we've already raised R2,200 🎉🎉🎉
