They too, deserve a second chance
The Repurposed Racehorse Community was formed to work alongside all the other various communities across the country that currently help with re-homing and supporting all OTTB’s (Off-Track Thoroughbred’s) and their hunt for a second career with a loving home.
Many of these ex-racehorses have a whole lot of heart and soul to continue giving their new owners into the show ring. Being a versatile breed with success in all major disciplines, it is not surprising to see so many fellow South African equine lover’s opting to take these youngsters on for the long-haul.
Besides looking for a new forever home for each of these top bloodline horses, we work to bring the OTTB owners of South Africa a showing experience that is solely dedicated to showcasing this breed’s skills in the arena. TRRC works in conjunction with a few showing bodies to bring OTTB only show days to encourage all OTTB owners to get the best out of their new and beloved equines.
Funds gathered from the re-homing of these ex-racehorses get distributed among various charities that currently aid in and support the safe re-homing of Thoroughbreds from racing into their new homes, and to help ensure they stay out of danger.
