I have started this post so many times , but just couldn't get to sharing it. I have come to a point where I have to. I know there will be those that will have nasty comments , but so be it.
I carry the financial cost of Imagine by myself.
I am too old for a permanent job, so I locum , meaning I only get paid for the days I work . Sometimes I'm lucky and I get booked 7 days for the week. Other times , like this past week , I got booked for 3 days . Rent is R10 000,00 and salaries is R 8 000,00 . Then there is still the vet bill of R6000,00.
The running cost per month comes to about R26 000 ,00.
I was extremely blessed with dog food , and for that I am grateful.
I am not writing this to gain sympathy, I chose this path , but I need help.
I am not perfect , I made mistakes , I did things wrong , I had to make decisions that killed a piece of me in order to keep Imagine running .
I don't take in dogs anymore, every now and then the odd one comes around , and I help , but I'm situated right next to Bloekombos and I get flooded with people with pleas for help.
I focus on sterilising as many as possible. Thank you Giving is Living- Cape Town for always sponsoring the sterilisations.
I won a competition with a construction company about a year ago to build sturdy brick kennels , but after two visits , I haven't heard a word back.
I am not witty , I just say a thing as it is in my heart , and right now I desperately need R30 000,00 to keep going.
To me that is a fortune , but there are over 4000 people on this page.
I saw with the post about Connor how many reactions there were.
If each one could just donate a R50 or R100 , Imagine will be out of the woods and can carry on.

Puffy was brought in for treatment. Malnourished and skinny underneath those puffy hair on his back. He also has a very bad case of untreated mange. Puffy had Nexguard and got dewormed , his skin gets treated and he gets a medicinal bath every day. He is scheduled for sterilization as soon as his skin gets better. Please help me get dogs like Puffy back to the beautiful , healthy dogs they deserve to be๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ There are so many more in Bloekombos that needs help, and I can only do so much on my salary. Staying right next to Bloekombos , I hear them barking at night , I see them running around on my way to work and back. Every day I pray for a miracle so I can help them all! I have rent to pay, I have salaries to pay , the vet bill is sky high. I cannot go on without help. Diggit and her brother Duke are two of the Bloekombos doggies I have been taking care of since they were little pups. Their owner really loves them , but three weeks ago someone left the gate open and a car drove over Diggit's front paws. They immediately brought her to me. On Monday she had her third anesthesia to try and get the skin attached again. Friday she needs to go back. I pay for Diggit's and all the other doggies treatment out of my own pocket. Imagine Animal Dreams is an animal rescue center situated in Joostenbergvlakte, just outside Cape Town. Our Mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home abandoned, abused and stray dogs and cats.

We are a Non-Profit Organisation committed to providing quality of life for the animals in our care and to helping cats and dogs in local communities. Imagine Animal Dreams is a safe haven run by the founder, Cecilia Jacobs, it is a place where abused, abandoned and stray pets can live in harmony. A place where they get a second chance at life, Cecilia and her staff will do anything in their power to place each of the pets in a new loving forever home.

Ideally, we would like our dogs and cats to be suitably homed for life and cared for by responsible owners. While they remain at our shelter, we strive to provide an environment where our animals are protected, well cared for and loved.

Our aim is to sterilize and to eliminate cruelty to animals, whether arising from ignorance, neglect or deliberate cruelty and to alleviate suffering and promote well-being.
