We are overflowing with gratitude today! ❤️🐾

A massive thank you to SCORE Grocery Discounter & K9 Pet Foods for blessing us with a bakkie load of dog food. What an incredible gift! And a very special thank you to Ann from Mdzananda for suggesting us – without you this would not have been possible. 🌟

The food was delivered to the Bonnie Toun informal settlement, where for so many dogs, Christmas truly came early. To see the excitement, wagging tails, and the relief on the faces of pet owners who often have so little to give – it was deeply moving. Moments like these remind us why we do what we do. 🐕🎄

The balance of the donation was shared with a few other small outreach groups who are doing amazing work in their own communities, and of course, with our very own rescues. Every single meal served is a blessing, and it’s thanks to the kindness of people like you.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for helping us bring hope, joy, and full bellies to so many deserving dogs. Together, we are making a difference. 💛

Another busy day

From sunrise, we’ve been between the Bonnie Toun settlement and the vet, carrying sick, animals in desperate need of care. Some were too weak to stand, others in pain, but all of them were clinging to life and hope.As soon as we entered the settlement their owners brought their animals wrapped in blankets and pleaded for help .A simple food drop off became a 5 hour wait at the vet to get them treatment .

In the middle of it all, our brave volunteer Jesse was badly bitten while trying to help someone with their injured dog. It was no one’s fault — just fear and pain, from both the animal and the people involved. Jesse stayed calm, got the dog to safety, and only then sought help for their own injuries. That’s the kind of person Jesse is — and the kind of heart this work takes. 💔🐾

We’re sharing this not just to tell you what we’re facing — but because we can’t do this alone.

🚨 We urgently need your help. Vet bills are growing, we have been tending to cases of parvo and tick fever . Transport costs, medication, food — it’s all adding up, and fast. These animals have no voice but ours… and no lifeline but you.

🌸🐾 Meet Sage & Poppy 🐾🌸

These two tiny sisters were found all alone in a box, left out in an open field. Despite such a sad start, they are safe now and already showing us just how much love and spirit they have. 💕

Being so young, they are fully dependent on puppy milk for now. We’re reaching out to ask for help- they need Milko Pup milk to grow strong and healthy. 🌱🐶

🐾💕 Meet Mama & Her Precious Kittens 💕🐾

Our hearts are full as we introduce Mama and her four tiny treasures! Just two weeks old, these adorable babies are growing fast under the loving care of their sweet and gentle mama. Mom has been an absolute angel — nurturing, calm, and so full of love. She deserves a forever home just as much as her little ones. 🏡💫

✨ TWO of the kittens already have forever homes waiting for them (yay!), but two more little purr machines will soon be ready to find theirs.

We just wanted to give a huge shout out to the amazing team at Animal Welfare Philippi 💛Animal Welfare Society of SA

We had a few tough cases recently, and they were honestly incredible. One was a poor duck that had been bitten by a dog — they didn’t even blink, just jumped in to help with so much care and kindness. It meant the world to us.

And then there was a community dog in the settlement struggling with tick fever… again, they were there. No judgment, no hesitation — just compassion and real help when it was needed most.

Thank you to every single person there. What you do matters so much. You made a hard time feel a little bit lighter. We appreciate you more than words can say. 🙏🐾

Around the World in 8 Hours – A Day in Our Life! 🌍🐾

What a day! It honestly felt like we travelled around the world in just 8 hours.

We kicked off the morning visiting Herschel Prep for their Careers Day, chatting to some incredibly bright young minds about the world of animal care and rescue work. The future’s looking good with these curious and compassionate students!
They also collected some much needed food for our many rescues ❤️🐾

From there, it was all paws on deck—off to help a poor duck that had been bitten by a dog 🦆🐶. (Don’t worry, we’ve got it in good hands and on the road to recovery.)

In between, we squeezed in a few stops to check on sick dogs needing some TLC, and even managed to slot in sterilisation sign-ups—because prevention is always better than cure!

It was one of those days that left us exhausted but grateful. Grateful for the work we do, the animals we help, and the people we meet along the way.
