HIGH FIVE, 2025!
Well, we wish we had found that many homes in 2024, but the good news is we did find homes for over 535 dogs, despite having over 14 weekends cancelled due to howling bad weather. That brings the grand total of 5231 life-saving adoptions since the organisation’s inception back in 2017. How grateful we all are to have witnessed so many of these rags to riches tales; so many stories, so many families whose lives have all been touched transformed because of ‘just a shelter dog’. My team and I are so grateful to do what we do. Gratitude abounds for these pound hounds and ya’ll for backing the inspired mission.

So besides wishing you all the very best for 2025, we want to say a big thank you to…you! If you are reading this you have either adopted, volunteer’d or donated to our worthy woofie cause. You are the backbone on which we do what we do, and without your loyal support it would be more ‘Yelp’ than ‘Yahoo’! You all make the world a better place and we hope you’ll remain a big part of what we do heading through 2025.

While there are so many people to thank – my team – Erin, Chloe, Washington, Brian, Komoni and Laurent – in addition on this ‘Dream Team’ our loyal sponsor in MARLTONS and SUPERWOOF Hotel & Daycare - they both just keep giving, year after year! I want to thank all the volunteers who came, walked and …adopted (We love it when that happens!) - not to specially mention the ‘other Fab 3’ - David, Ruth and Dorian whom have all literally helped at WOOF Project every weekend for the past 4 years. Who needs Mandela Day when you have a team like that!

So that’s the wrap, dog lovers and WOOF Wonder’ers. The force of you, our fans, is with us so we are ready to ‘high five’ our paws up in ’25. See you on our red canine carpet.

Oscars Arc is a registered charitable trust born to inspire dog adoption and save shelter dogs lives. 'WOOF Project', the signature initiative of Oscars Arc, is a dynamic ‘pop-up’ dog adoption concept that aims to accelerate dog adoption through innovative design, creative marketing, and providing an unrivaled, positive dog adoption experience. Since its inception in 2017, WOOF Project has increased the total combined Western Cape adoption rate by 42%

All the dogs originate from existing shelters and the mobile ‘pop-up’ WOOF Project moves within convenient inspired locations in order to provide these dogs with the exposure needed in order to find a forever home. With the exception of puppies under 6mo. of age, all dogs are vaccinated, sterilized and fully vaccinated. WOOF Project offers a 'NAME YOUR PRICE' dog adoption fees along with your satisfaction, guaranteed.

Oscars Arc was founded by Joanne Lefson in honor of Oscar, her adopted dog and best friend who became the first and only dog to ever travel around the world - visiting 45 countries in order to promote dog adoption. Highlights of the 2009 WORLD WOOF TOUR included Oscar walking the Great Wall of China, climbing Machu Picchu, sailing the Amazon, posing before Red Square, hang gliding over Rio and tying the knot in Las Vegas. Oscar’s acclaimed travels made him the international ambassador for homeless dogs, raising invaluable awareness for their plight.

Oscar’s legacy continues through Oscars Arc- directly measured through every dog given a home - and a life - through WOOF Project.
