🌞 Hot Weather Tips for Your Pets! 🐾

Summer heat can be tough on our furry friends, but there are simple ways to keep them cool and safe.

Here are some vital tips for your pet’s well-being during those scorching days:

Hydration is Key! 🥤
Make sure your pet has access to fresh water all day. Dehydration can be dangerous!

Limit Outdoor Time 🌳
Avoid walks or playtime during the hottest parts of the day (usually between 11 AM and 4 PM). Early mornings or evenings are better for outdoor activities.

Provide Shade & Cool Spaces 🏠
Set up a shady spot in your yard or inside where your pet can cool down. Use fans or air conditioning to keep indoor spaces comfortable.

Avoid Hot Pavement 🐾🔥
Hot sidewalks and roads can burn your pet's paws! Test the ground with your hand—if it’s too hot for you, it’s too hot for them.

Keep Coat Groomed ✂️
A trimmed or well-groomed coat helps pets stay cool, but never shave your pet down to the skin—especially for breeds with double coats. It can actually lead to overheating.

🚨 Important Alert for Dog Owners: Canine Parvo Virus 🚨

Canine Parvovirus (CPV) is a highly contagious viral infection that affects dogs, especially puppies and unvaccinated dogs.
It attacks the gastrointestinal tract, causing severe vomiting, diarrhea (often bloody), lethargy, and dehydration. In severe cases, it can be fatal.

Signs to watch for:
• Loss of appetite
• Vomiting and diarrhea
• Lethargy and weakness
• Dehydration

Prevention is key:
• Ensure your dog is up-to-date on vaccinations, especially puppies who are most at risk.
• Avoid contact with other dogs who might be infected.
• Clean up after your dog regularly, as the virus can live in the environment for months.
If you suspect your dog has parvo, seek immediate veterinary care. Early intervention can save lives! 🐾
