PHOTOCATALYST
Photocatalysis is a decomposition reaction formed when Titanium dioxide, as a catalyst, uses light energy.
Ti0² can be used semi-permanently because, as a catalyst, it is not consumed in the process and therefore does not change. Also, when small amounts of certain wavelengths from fluorescent lights and organic matter on the surface of Ti0² meet and react, it carries out the function of purifying air and sterilizing sundry bacteria by decomposing foul-smelling molecules. Ti0² was approved as a food additive in 1968 by the United States of America.
At present, Ti0², is used in the making of chocolates and is a totally harmless material to the human body.

Q. How soon should my Mosquito Trap begin to control mosquitoes?
A. The Trap will begin to catch immediately there is mosquito activity in the area. Female mosquitoes looking for food will be drawn to the Trap and destroyed. The Trap will gradually reduce your mosquito population as it attracts and destroys them . It may take 6-8 weeks of use to reduce the mosquito population to the point that you have successfully interrupted their breeding cycle.
Q. Will it harm humans or pets?
A. No. It is completely safe for humans, animals and the environment. The Mosquito Trap does not involve pesticides, bug zappers, repellents, etc. Fogging , repellents and coils often involve the use of chemicals that have the potential to be dangerous for both humans and the environment. The Mosquito Trap uses none of these chemical methods in the control of midge and mosquito populations . The Trap, unlike many other products, is 100% environmentally friendly.
Q. How high off the ground do we install it?
A. The Mosquito Trap can be placed , fixed or hung on any external object, wall, verandah post, tree or ceiling in the area to be protected. The most efficient catches were at about 1.8 metres off the ground. Many people also have small children and pets and need to hang the unit head high.
Q. Is the device noisy?
A. The Trap's only sound is the built-in fan , which is equivalent to a computer fan.
Q. Does it attract other insects?
A. Yes, it has been specifically designed to attract and control mosquitoes, midges, sandflies and other blood sucking insects, although it may attract other insects not beneficial to your garden as well.
Q. How long do I operate the trap for each day?
A. The Mosquito Trap is best operated for about 8 to 10 hours a day, but can be left on permanently.

A. This depends on the size of your property. Generally, we recommend two or three Traps, depending on the number and location of midge & mosquito breeding areas on your property. The Mosquito Trap can, in favourable weather conditions, attract insects from up to 24 metres away.
