Who remembers our Christmas Pawty of 2020?

It was ONE very busy day and the entire DDM Team was on board. Why? Well on that day we had a record 80 pawty animals at our premises!

Let’s just say that after that day we decided that henceforth DDM Christmas pawties will be held over an entire week 🤣

PS: A concerning number of the pups in these photos have sadly passed over the rainbow bridge but they live on in our hearts forever ❤️

When you’re in the process of winding down a business, you experience frequent bouts of intense nostalgia.

Your mind travels back to how and where it all started. You remember the team who, over more than a decade worked alongside you to build something remarkable.

Please forgive me if, over the next few weeks, I travel down memory lane more than usual, its part of the journey of processing and accepting the changes that lie ahead.

I’d like to give a massive shout-out to our groomers, Lerene and Leandrie who have groomed for us for over 8 years. They’ve sent thousands of perfectly pimped and proud pooches home to their doting parents. Trust me when I say that this is exhausting and back-breaking physical work.

Month after month, year after year, these two ladies arrived at 7am sharp on bath & toothbrush and groom days. Lerene’s diary is booked up a year in advance and we were lucky enough to have first dibs. This is why in January we could already tell you when we’d be grooming in December.

Ladies, I am deeply humbled by your dedication to DDM and our clients over so many years. Thank you for not only grooming our pups but grooming to perfection. I know that our clients are going to miss you!

We’ll have our last sessions during January and we’ll keep you posted of the dates ❤️

As you may have noticed, we are busy with a major clean-up and declutter opawration in preparation for our closure in January.

The SPCA will be doing a collection tomorrow (Wednesday) morning. They take anything and everything useable, whether its goodies for pets or household items incl books that they can sell.

Feel free to drop it off with the DDM team no later than 9am.

When a dog leaves this world, they take a piece of our hearts with them, carrying it to some boundless place where time and pain don’t exist, where they can finally run as far and as freely as they’ve always wanted. And somehow, they’re still connected to us. They remember every pat on the head, every quiet moment when you needed them most. They remember that shared glance, that familiar walk, and every little way you showed them they were loved. And they’re waiting, knowing somehow, somewhere, you’ll find them again.

One day, when you finally meet again, they’ll come running toward you, just like they used to, eyes bright, heart full, as if no time has passed at all. In that moment, every goodbye you ever said will turn into a hello again, and that love you shared will feel as whole as it ever was. Because that bond, that unbreakable bond, doesn’t fade—it just waits for you, ready to be picked up right where you left it.

Our December groomdays are always jam packed….its nearly howlidays, Santa’s having his sleigh serviced at North Pole Auto and pooches want to look and feel their furry best!

Our grooming includes the full pamper - bath, brush, cut, shave, trim, mani, pedi and even the unmentionable…..anal gland cleanse

All short haired dogs (Boston, Frenchie, Chihuahua and similar) ~ R130

Small dogs with long hair (Yorkie, Maltese, Pekes, Poms and similar) ~ R150

Medium dogs with long hair (Schnauzers, Spaniels, Poodles and similar) ~ R170
