As the festive season approaches, we at AWSO want to take a moment to thank everyone who has supported us over the past year. Your generosity — whether through donations, volunteering, or simply spreading the word — has brought hope and comfort to countless animals in need. You truly embody the spirit of Christmas: giving, compassion, and community. ❤️🐾

Our primary focus is on Villiersdorp and its surrounding areas. While we’re proud of the work we’ve done in this community, it hasn’t been without its challenges. Unfortunately, much of our energy has been drained by the constant negativity and divisiveness coming from a small group of individuals. These “keyboard warriors” seem more interested in spreading complaints and stirring drama than actually contributing to the well-being of animals.

In a town like Villiersdorp, where there are so many issues to address and so much good that can be done, this type of behavior is incredibly disheartening. What’s more, we receive no assistance from the municipality, yet we continue to shoulder the responsibility of improving animal welfare.

To those who prefer to tear down rather than build up: imagine the difference you could make if you channeled your energy into helping rather than hindering. Criticism without action only harms the animals we are all here to protect.

To our loyal supporters: this Christmas, we ask you to continue standing with us. Your donations — whether food, blankets, toys, or financial contributions — enable us to keep going despite the obstacles. Let’s come together and show what the true spirit of Christmas looks like.

They rely on donations to keep going, and we’re calling on you to help us bring some joy to the animals and families in Villiersdorp!

When we rebranded and launched the new Doggie Land in 2021, one of our first goals was to revive a beloved piece of our history. The location that now houses Doggie Land Parlour Parow was the second-last physical address of the former company before it went fully mobile in 2017.

This location holds a special place in our hearts. It’s where George, our owner, worked during school holidays years ago. Reviving it wasn’t just about opening a walk-in grooming parlour and pet shop—it was about breathing new life into a space full of memories and turning it into a hub for exceptional pet care.

Some of the branches came together... And did a thing. 🎅 🎉 🍻.

These people work unbelievably hard, it warms my heart when I'm able to give them something like this. A chance to blow off some steam, sit back and relax and just have some Laughs together.

This last stretch during silly season is an extra big push. Book upfront, it's gonna get wet... And wild 💦 🐾.
