Interesting

A common Question...When is the right time to back a horse? We saw image showing at what age different bone formations in the equine anatomy are "ossified" or formed. We must admit it shocked us all in the office!

Our flagship equestrian product....

ALOE VETERINARY FORMULA

This easy to apply spray is ideal for soothing irritations, wound care, cleansing area's before applying dressings or to achieve a glossy and conditioned coat after bathing.

The gentle Aloe Veterinary Formula can be diluted to clean irritated eyes or to clean dirty ears. It can also be used as a soothing leg wash to provide protection after exercise.

A great all round product.

This is why bodywork is so important for your horse's overall well-being

This is why bodywork is so important for your horse's overall well-being

The horse naturally carries 70 % of its weight over the front end. The horse has no collar bones, and so the shoulders are attached to the body by muscles, ligaments and fascia known as the Thoracic Sling. The Thoracic Sling is made up of a series of muscles, all of which are involved in steering the ridden horse. If these muscles become tight and restricted, (as what commonly occurs very quickly if the horse at anytime develops front foot pain) the whole horse will be out of balance and the horse will be forced to lean towards the more restricted side, which is the cause for dropping shoulders (toward the restricted side) and floating out (away from the restricted side). Any compensation will quickly cause problems in the rest of the body. By the law of physics, any imbalance in the front end will absolutely cause a corresponding imbalance in the back end. This is necessary in order for the horse to remain upright and not tip over. This imbalance will not be helped by trying to "pick the horses shoulder up" by a rein, or "get them off your leg" by a spur. It can only be helped by releasing the restrictions that have developed in the front end.

A wonderful message from Nikki, a new client:

Can I just say that before I had my ONE session with Suzanne 'Wright' Holmes I couldn't get either horse to stay in the trailer. Alfie would go in no problem and then almost immediately fly out backwards (dangerous for us all). Sal was like nope - not doing it - and planted his feet refusing to get in. A few hours with her and both boys - and now I can get Sal to walk in himself and Alfie has stopped bolting backwards at drop of a hat and standing quietly - he's not "there" yet but Sal is happy as a lark in there! Sal likes it so much I literally had to drag him out today! Alfie went in half way by himself today - so we're getting there bit by bit! Suzanne was very reasonably priced, affordable - wasn't hurried or pressured me - I had no arms left by the end of our session but what a result - two horses that now go into and stand in the box, first time asked to by ME (as its not so great if horse only goes in for trainer). Suzanne gave me tips and a lot of confidence and the boys and I are doing great - now to plan some fun jaunts! Still work to do, but I think Suzanne fixed me as much as she did the boys!

Super loading session last night with two "oldies" who just decided to give their mom a run for the money.
Once again loading like super stars!

Another successful loading session with a young 4 year old who has never boxed before - so wonderful to have a positive influence at this stage!
