***!!!***!!! URGENT - TIME SENSITIVE EMERGENCY (DEADLINE TOMORROW)!!!***!!!***

Yesterday, the 21st of August, the SPCA had to deal with a horrific hoarding shelter at an animal welfare organisation’s premises in Cape Town. They removed the most urgent cases for treatment and to relieve those beyond help from their suffering.

However, there are about 250 dogs from all breeds and sizes that need an urgent place of interim safety. Rescuers will be at the property today (22 August 2024) to remove approximately 50 dogs who will be taken in by various entities. Any of the remaining 200 animals who do not find a place of safety are likely going to end up euthanised. This is something we are DESPERATELY trying to prevent.

We do have a tentative deadline for removing as many dogs as possible to safety for the end of tomorrow.

The places of safety we seek should be temporary - it depends on whether we can get an agreement in place to bring the current shelter up to welfare standards. There are already plans and efforts in place to secure funding to do so.

Saving 200 lives is an impossible task. If we can get only one dog out, it would mean one life saved. So if you have ANY connections or can provide a temporary place of safety for one or more of these victims, we urge you to reach out to Tony Gerrans on +27 662750953. ANY help would be appreciated more than we could express. Spread the word, reach out to your own networks, pick up the phone and make a call - ANYTHING. The more people know about this, the more we increase our chances of saving more than one dog.

Josey loves hiding her ball in between the continental pillow, then pulls everything out of the bed to get to her ball. She does this all day long. The ball gets hidden under the beds, and then she rearranges the office with beds and blankets everywhere 🤣🥹🩷🐕🐾
