💛 Our veterinarians are miracle workers! 🐾 This brave dog, Bhayilomkwana, came to us with two badly broken back legs. While many vets would have considered euthanasia due to the complexity of the recovery, our incredible team decided to give him a fighting chance. They skillfully repaired both fractures with pins and wires, and now he’s walking again! 🦴✨
An orthopedic operation like this can cost around R6000, but we charge our clients just R150, thanks to the generosity of donors like you. Your support makes these miracles possible! 🙏🐕

A sincere thank you to Alderman JP Smith for your phenomenal support and for taking the time to visit us 🐾
“One is humbled when you get to a place like Mdzananda. Like many animal welfare organizations, they have to perform miracles every day with very limited resources.
For the last 28 years, they have served a very large area with big needs. Over time they have added bit by bit to their facilities and services for the residents of Khayelitsha.
I was excited to hear of their vision for rebuilding this collection of structures into an animal clinic they can be proud of, and I will do whatever I can to help them achieve this vision.
Please consider giving them your support, financially, with donations in kind, or go and adopt one of the 48 dogs and many cats in their shelter.” – JP Smith

🐶 I Am Just an Africanis 🥺I sit here, day after day, watching as people walk through the gates. I hear their voices, their laughter, their excitement and my heart skips a beat. My tail begins to wag; I lift my head high. Maybe today is the day someone sees me. I am just an Africanis, but I have so much love to give. I watch them look around, pointing at others with shiny coats and special names. I see their smiles, but I hear their words—“We’re looking for a specific breed,” they say. My tail slows, my ears droop. I am just an Africanis.I know I may not have the pedigree that some people seek. My fur might not be glossy but I am loyal. I am kind. I am strong. I have lived a life of resilience, a life full of love waiting to be given. When you come to the shelter, I wag my tail for you. I come to the front of the cage, hoping you will look into my eyes and see my heart. I don’t have a fancy story; I am just an Africanis, waiting, wishing, hoping to be loved for who I am.I see the other dogs leave with their new families, and I feel happy for them. But as the gates close, I am still here, waiting. I am just an Africanis, but I dream of the day you will see beyond the name and into my soul. Please, next time you visit, take a moment to see me. Don’t walk past my kennel because I am just an Africanis. Give me a chance to show you how much I can love, how I will protect you, how joyfully I will greet you every day. 🙏🥺 I am not just a dog. I am just an Africanis, and I have been waiting my whole life for someone like you. 🧡#MdzanandaAnimalClinic #Africanis #AdoptDontShop #AnimalWelfare #Khayelitsha #SaveADog #SaveALife #RescuePets #AnimalLove #CapeTownDogs #MakingADifference #BeTheChange #AnimalClinic #MakingAnImpact #CapeTownPets #AnimalRescueCapetown #AnimalClinic #DogsOfCapeTown

Our sweet Buttons is still fighting, but it’s been a tough battle. 🐾💔 His condition remains fragile—he’s still struggling with mange, and his little body is taking time to heal. Every day is a challenge, but he’s hanging in there, and we’re doing everything we can to help him pull through.
It’s heartbreaking to see him in this state, but we haven’t given up on him, and we know you haven’t either. Buttons needs more time, care, and love to get to the point where he can start truly healing.
Your donations have been a lifeline for him, but the journey isn’t over yet. We still need your support to cover his ongoing medical treatments, special food, and the round-the-clock care he requires.
