🎅 It’s the final count down! 🎅

Monday will be the last full day of grooming and we will be staying open until 2pm Christmas Eve for any last minute spruces for Santa paws 🐾

We have had some heavy news placed on us today. The loss of Fiona hasn’t quite sunken fully in as it only felt like yesterday I took her Christmas photo.

We will sorely miss you.
Touch wasn’t your love language but you made us feel loved.
You were such a beautiful soul who loved her walks equally as much as she loved to chill.

We will be sad today and tears have been shed but we are sending all the love to Fiona’s wonderful family. She was blessed to spend her years with you 🫶🏼 and it has been a privilege to get to know you all ❤️

Yes they all belong to one family!

Yes their coats are a lot of maintenance. To keep the coat in top condition they come for weekly grooms.

And yes they bring a whole lot of joy, it’s like being in a sea of fluff!

Being cute on a Monday 🤭💕

Dog grooming is a rewarding job but it comes with its challenges. It take a special kind of person to handle this kind of pressure while still having the ability to pour their love cup out on those around them.

However the cup can deplete, and so
I encourage you to help fill up your groomers love cup. Don’t worry! It’s not as difficult as you think, a simple positive word of affirmation will do.

‼️IMPORTANT INFORMATION ‼️

We highly recommend giving any remedies to prevent ticks and fleas, they are prevalent on the mountain at the moment and there is a high chance of picking up a tick or two.

The ticks in South Africa carry the tick borne fever disease which can be fatal for dogs. Prevention is always better than cure.

Please ensure you are doing thorough checks of your dogs coat after doing a mountain walk or anywhere there is long grass, it’s takes 24hrs for the disease to pass through to your dog.

It is important to keep on top of grooming in between your trips to the parlour. Some breeds will need more grooming compared to others but all breeds will benefit from a weekly light groom.

Whatever the coat type, brushing your dog weekly will bring huge health benefits (and less hair around the house) as it helps to stimulate the coat and improve circulation. Not only that, it makes for a great bonding session and the perfect time to do a little health check.

what is a health check?

A health check is checking your dogs overall health from the outside and finding out what is normal for your dog.
Running your hands along the skin to check for any cuts, lumps or abnormalities; check the gums for any change in colour and check the cap refill (press on the gums and time how long it takes for the colour to come back); checking inside the ears, eyes and pads of feet.

Sticking to a good and regular routine will make your trip to the parlour more positive and less costly.
