Today the air feels a bit heavier, and life a little emptier.

On Saturday, we said goodbye to Lara — our oldest girl, our friend, our family, and one of the brightest parts of our world. Many of you knew her from the photos I shared over the years, and for so many of you, she became part of the ShutterMutts story too.

Lara, you were never just a dog.
You were a companion, a teacher, a shadow at my side, and a source of endless love. Thank you for every moment we shared, for the memories I will hold onto for the rest of my life. I loved you your whole life… and I will miss you for the rest of mine.

ShutterMutts exists because of you — and because of Lisa, who left us a few years ago. The two of you were my inspiration, the reason I picked up a camera and the reason this little dream became a business. It feels only right to honour you here, where your story helped shape so many others.

Look over us from the stars, my girl.
Give Lisa a hug for us.
This isn’t goodbye — just see you again.
