ABOUT US

Our story started in 2009 when we saw a Maine C**n for the very first time at a show in the Good Hope Centre, Cape Town. We were blown away by their magnificence and temperament. A couple of years after tragically losing our sons cat ‘Tigger’, we really started missing having a kitty in our home. We remembered the breed that had knocked our socks off in 2009, the ‘Maine C**n’ and started to research these magnificent creatures. We were happy to read about these gentle giants with their wild appearance, intelligence, playful, loving and very sociable personalities. What appealed to me too was the fact that they were to be kept within your own property only (not wondering the streets, which is how we lost Tigger). The search was on and our adventure began. Once finding a credible Breeder and firmly specifying that we could have ‘ONLY 1 KITTEN’ to falling absolutely head over heels in love with the whole litter and going home with 3! Within a period of 2 years we adopted a couple more! Yes, beware, they are very addictive! We then decided that we had to spread the joy & healing this breed brings...... And CATACOONS Maine C**n Cattery was born!
