MESSAGE/WARNING FROM A TRUSTED CLIENT:
Hi all.
I thought I am tech savvy and I wont be easily scammed. Well today I was proven wrong.
As you all know yesterday our African Grey bird got starteld by the workers and flew away.
We posted on many groups and our friends also did to spread the word.
I got a message to tell me someone has our bird. With a name and telephone number. The guys name was Brian. I called him and he describe the bird and he also told me where he got the bird. Very close to our house actually.
I then asked him for a pin location in order for me to come and fetch the bird. He told me that he stays out on a farm close to Ceres. I told him it is fine I want my bird back. Because I am very emotional I did not think clearly.
He then told me to dowload an app called SIGNAL because he does not use Whatsapp. He explained to me that SIGNAL is more private and that I will need to activate my esim on my phone in order for us to communicate and that he will then send me the pin.
He then told me to activate the esim I must buy an OTT voucher on my bank and then he will explain how to activate the esim. Now remember I am emotional and do everything he ask.
After sending the OTT VOUCHER HE STOPS ALL COMMUNICATION AND BLOCKS OUR NUMBERS
We drove all the way to Wolsley while he is playing cat and mouse with us.
We did not loose a lot because I said I will not buy a bigger than R300 voucher. But he took us for a ride while we are very emotional about our bird.
I want to say to you if a person tells you to download signal because he does not use whatsapp block that number immidately.
