It is so wonderful to see colour in the garden again. Last year we had a terrible outbreak of spidermite, which was aided by the extremely hot dry weather. This year we are making sure the garden is always cool, and slightly damp. Please be aware of the telling signs of these miniature critters. They get into everything and decimate quickly. Keep checking the leaves for stippling. If you check under the leaves you will see them, though very tiny. Something else to look for are the fine webs between leaves and branches. Treat accordingly. Enjoy gardening!
