Little knowledge about snakes' eyes

Snakes have abandoned eyelids in favor of a thin, clear membrane covering their cornea, which functions like a self-repairing contact lens. Not only does the membrane refract light, it is also replaced from time to time so that scratches on the eye disappear.

SUIT OF ARMOR

Snakes bodies are covered with scales. Without this armor, snakes could not move over rough or hot surfaces like tree bark, rocks, and hot desert sand.

Scales are made up of layers of cells stacked one on top of the other. The outer cells are dead and protect the living ones underneath them. A few times every year a snake will shed a layer of dead skin. The cells underneath are then ready to take over as the outer layer.

They do not hibernate and yours ball is not either. It is typical of Ball Pythons to not eat for a few months this time of year.
