Signature Bunnies Dwarf Rabbits After years of searching for the ideal animal, I came across the Netherland Dwarf rabbit. So my frantic search began for pure bunnies.

As most can guess, give me a cute fluffy animal to care for and I can't say no. The problem i encountered was that most "dwarf rabbits" are not dwarfs at all! They are just bunnies who are smaller than normal. So I searched and searched and eventually came across a website (Fancy Dwarfs) and I said to myself: "This... this looks like the place." So i delved into questioning and research (days and

weeks of it!) until I finally made up my mind. I must say, the trip to Robertson was wonderful and when we arrived, we did not know what to expect as far as the quantity of bunnies. And was I blown away. My head reeled with possibilities as I looked over what had to be the most impressive breeding stock I had ever seen! The choices were endless, from short hair to angora, from black to the fluffiest cream and himalayan. The breeder, Ulyn, was ever so kind and helpful in my decision as to which breeding stock to acquire. I highly recommend her for all serious animal lovers who love rabbits. And so it all began. We will remain a small breeding operation and will only have babies from time to time but if you are genuinely interested in one of these magnificent little bunnies then stay tuned. I am pleased to present the 3 babies born yesterday (29th August 2021) to our lovely Jersey Wooly doe Comet. She did an excellent job cleaning them off but didn't make a nest or have any milk at the time of delivery. Thankfully she has since come into her milk and her babies are being raised 'on the shelf', only being returned to her for feedings.

Update time: The good the bad and the ugly.

The good: Luna and Nehemia have been good mothers. Not a single kit has been lost either during birth or rearing. All kits are now weaned and doing well.

The bad: Luna is such an attentive mother that she seems to neglect her own well-being a bit. This is her last litter for a few months as nursing a litter of eight 'round the clock (she is doing The Most™ as most does nurse kits once or twice a day) has dropped her condition a bit. There is good news though, she has been steadily gaining weight since her kits were moved from her and she will be back to her normal self in no time.

The ugly: The baboons in the area have been paying more attention to my yard lately and while it seems mainly due to my veggie patch, I noticed some interest in the rabbit pellets. But hell hath no fury like Luna with a nest of kits. She lunged at the side of the cage when a baboon simply glanced her way, which took the intruder by surprise. Needless to say they haven't approached the cages since.

Okay, updates updates. Our girl, Luna has done an excellent job of rearing her twin girls. They are now eight weeks old and growing wonderfully. Our other girl, Nehemia, has also done amazingly, delivering five kits and being one of the most attentive mothers I have seen thus far. Her babies are now almost 4 weeks old.

Luna is due again in the coming week as she didn't drop condition at all with just two kits (her breed frequently has litters of 10 or 12) and we are hoping all goes well.

Pricing is as follows:
8-12 weeks old - R200
12+ weeks - R300

Contact us for more info or to book a viewing/ collect kits. First come, first served, unless kits are reserved with a 50% deposit.

Ladies and Gentlemen, it really feels like it has been decades since there have been baby bunnies but I can proudly say we have twin New Zealand White kits. Now, this is this doe's first litter so I'm hoping for larger litters in future. But the twins are fat and healthy after being born Friday morning (27 July 2018). The doe has done a stellar job thus far and we are sure she will continue in the manner. Her sister was also recently mated and should be due in about 4 weeks. Kits will be for sale from 6 weeks. Pricing on request.
