We want to take this moment to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who showed their support for our Christmas project in aid of Thaba Tshwane Dogs and Sandpaper Kisses - Feral Cats SA.
Thanks to your generosity, we were able to gather not only a whole bunch of Christmas lunches for these less fortunate pets, but we also raised nearly R10000 for the two rescues, which will make a significant difference in providing food, veterinary products, and vital veterinary services.
A sincere thank you to everyone who played a part in making this project a success, and a special shoutout to the incredible rescue workers who are making such a profound impact in our community.❤️🙏

As we approach the New Year, we know that fireworks can be a source of stress and anxiety for many pets. Even though it's illegal to set off fireworks in residential areas, it's always best to be prepared and keep your furry friends safe and calm.
🔹 Natural Calming Medications: We have safe, over-the-counter calming solutions to help ease your pet's anxiety. Ask our friendly reception team for assistance, and we recommend starting these medications a few days before New Year’s Eve to allow them to take full effect.
🔹 Stronger Medications: If your pet needs something stronger, please remember that by veterinary law, we cannot prescribe scheduled medications without a recent health check (within the last 6 months). So, if your pet requires stronger calming medication, please book a health check with us to ensure we can assist you.

🚨 Urgent Warning to Pet Owners: Increase in Dog Poisonings 🚨
We want to warn all pet owners about the rise in cases of dogs being poisoned in our area. Last night, 3 houses' pets were targeted in Flora road, Valhalla. We currently have two beautiful rottweilers in our care, who were poisoned. We can only assume that the intent is burglary. These brave dogs are currently fighting for their lives, but are stable.
(The video above was taken early this morning - although the patient is still critical, she is calm and both of these poison patients are being closely monitored by our dedicated team.)
Sadly, the other dogs from the area did not survive this cruel act.
A member of the Valhalla Community CPF shared that, in the past two weeks alone, five pets have been poisoned in Valhalla. Additionally, we've seen similar cases over the last few weeks from different areas in Centurion. These incidents suggest a troubling pattern, potentially linked to the intention of breaking into homes when pets are incapacitated.
🐾 What You Can Do to Protect Your Pets:
‼Keep pets indoors whenever possible, especially at night.
‼Patrol your yard before letting pets out—look for anything suspicious or unusual.
‼Be on alert for symptoms of poisoning: vomiting, lethargy, drooling, or loss of coordination. If you suspect poisoning, this is an emergency—get your pet to a vet immediately! We strongly advise not wasting time by trying to do home treatments, the sooner the dog gets to the vet, the sooner we can start giving treatment to support them.
‼Spread the word to fellow pet owners in your neighborhood as we usually see a spike in these type of cases around the festive season.
‼ Please report these incidents to the SAPS & the CPF to ensure that more visibility in those areas can be arranged.
