Muttley Crew Flyball

Today was day two🗓 of the Free State Kennel Club show in Frankfort. Muttley Crew Flyball achieved a 3rd🥉 place again🏆, improving their time to 21.52s⏱️.

The team consisted of:

Flynn - Mariska Pretorius
Mila - Dean Sichelschmidt
Ziva - Yolandé Johnson
Box loader - Martinus Nel
All round helper - Matthew Sichelschmidt

Today was incredibly windy🌪, and definitely challenged the dogs and handlers💪. But it was still a lot of fun🤩! Thank you to judge Bobby Boyd📋. The teams definitely challenged him over these two days with typical flyball chaos🥎🐕🥎. He patiently continued judging and supported the teams throughout📣.

A special thanks to Mariska💙 and Flynn🥎 for joining our team this weekend. While only four dogs run at any time, usually a team consists of up to six dogs, allowing for dogs to be alternated and getting some rest🧘. Having them join the team definitely helped ease some of the responsibility on all the dogs in the team, making it easier for the dogs to perform optimally🏋 over these two days✨️.

Thank you as well to FBI Flyball Team SA 2024 Flying Forward 💚 and Locomotion 🖤 flyball teams. These two days were filled with lots of chaos, laughs and most importantly, amazing sportsmanship🫂. All teams helped and cheared for everyone👏. It was absolutely incredible! This weekend 5 teams, from 3 clubs, from 2 provinces gathered in another province🗺 to do what we all love to do with our dogs💚🖤💙.

Today Muttley Crew Flyball team members💙 departed their homes bright and early🌄 for their first out of province show🗺🚙 in Frankfort, Free State! This is a two-day show, which continues tomorrow.

The team did really well🏆, claiming 3rd place🥉, with a best time of 21.72s⏱️.

Tonight our dogs are resting💙😴💙 in preparation for day 2 tomorrow morning💪.

What a day for Muttley Crew Flyball!!

- Tracey Badenhorst's son, Alex, made his debut as a handler with her precious girl, Dara🙌
- Dara and Alex SMASHED it, pushing Dara over the finish line for her FDA title 🥳
- Dean Sichelschmidt broke competition ice with his maligator, Mila. They absolutely ROCKED it 👏🔥
- Amberly and Lindi Nel ran their hearts out, helping Dara achieve her FDA ♥️♥️♥️
- Our fearless leader, Yolande Johnson, ran both Coal and Ziva. Ziva was the poster pup for "Oldie, but Goldie", kicking dirt in the younger doggos' faces. Coal was chomping at the bit (harness?😜) and ran like never before, LOVING every moment. So good to have him back in action!!💪😁
- Our incredible box loader, Martinus Nel, hauled our team to victory by handling our very moody box superbly!! He deserves a trophy after today 🤣

Guys and gals.....we came SECOND 😱

Today Muttley Crew participated in their first show🥎🐕! Thank you to Birch Acres Dog Training Club for hosting a fun show, and Natalie Rosner for judging🧮📝! The team came 3rd🥉🏆 with a best time of 23.12s⏱️. This was an amazing achievement for the team🥳, which consisted of:
