This year has started in the hardest way possible—with too many of our precious animals falling sick, each one needing extra care, medical treatment, and love.
We fight for them every day, but some days, no matter how much we do, it just doesn’t feel like enough.
The heartbreak, the worry, and the overwhelming responsibility weigh so heavily on us.

We don’t always show the hardest parts—the sleepless nights, the endless vet visits, the fear of losing them despite giving everything we have.

It’s not just about saving lives; it’s about fighting for them through every setback, every injury, every moment of suffering.
And right now, we are fighting harder than ever.

Esther update...

Esther is doing good, she is eating and taking her meds, she is still not putting weight on her foot, I had to close her bandage with plastic to keep it from getting wet.

Esther needs your prayers and support, this will be a long road to recovery for our brave girl.

Tanky update

Tanky did great through the night and ate most of his breakfast, I managed to give him all his meds and for now his not really getting up which is understandable.
He definitely needs time to rest and heal, I will only do wound cleaning tomorrow as per direction of our vet.
Please keep Tanky in your prayers for fast healing.

A Tough Day at Pigs n Paws !

Today has been an incredibly hard day for us.
Just as I was preparing to take Esther to the vet for her check-up, I got the devastating news that another one of our pigs, Tanky, had been badly injured.
I immediately loaded them both and we headed to Dr. Chris for urgent care.

Esther’s recovery is going to be a long journey.
At this stage, there’s nothing more we can do but continue with stronger antibiotics and pain medication to help her fight through this.
Please keep her in your prayers—she’s such a warrior girl, but she needs all the love and strength we can send her.

Tanky’s injury was severe. Dr. Chris sedated him to clean the wound, but it’s too graphic to share.
He’s still resting off the sedation, and we’ll be keeping both Esther and Tanky indoors and as quiet as possible in the days ahead to give them the best chance to recover.

This unexpected double emergency means our vet bill will be enormous.
Once again, we need the help of our amazing supporters to get through this.

Urgent Help Needed for Esther

Esther’s story is one of bravery and resilience.
This incredible girl made a daring leap off a trailer to escape what would have been a terrible fate.
She fought for her life that day, and we promised her she’d never have to fight alone again.

Now, Esther needs us all more than ever.
Her injured hoof isn’t healing as our vet, Dr. Chris Janich, had hoped.
She needs to go in for a check-up so we can figure out the next steps to help her heal and be comfortable.

Esther is a warrior—strong, determined, and full of life.
But we can only give her the care she needs with your help. Vet bills are a constant challenge, and this visit will be costly, but we can’t let her down now.

Ever wondered what happens to all the poo at Pigs n Paws? (We know you were losing sleep over it!)
Here's the scoop on the p**p:

🌱 Twice a week, we do what we call the Poo Run—our glamorous version of a treasure hunt.
Every day, pig and horse manure gets lovingly scooped, bagged, and sent on its way to...

🌟 The Compost Heap of Dreams! 🌟
We mix it up with grass, leaves, and let nature work its magic.
And guess what?
After all the recent rain, we’ve even had pumpkins sprout up like surprise gifts from the poo heaps! 🎃

💡 Goal for 2025:
We’re planning to bag this gold (well, compost gold) and sell it to gardeners to help grow the lushest, greenest plants ever—and raise extra funds for our sanctuary!

Our Dream for 2025:
A Medical Barn for Our Pigs

At Pigs n Paws, we believe every animal deserves a safe, warm, and clean place to heal when they’re unwell.
Right now, we’re caring for Esther, one of our beloved pigs, who injured her hoof.

Esther is receiving antibiotics and pain medication, and her wound is cleaned and bandaged twice a day.
We’re working closely with our incredible vet,
Dr. Chris Janisch, to ensure she gets the best care possible.
Seeing her determination to heal inspires us every day.
