Hound & House Sit

Hound & House Sit House sitting, Pet care, Pet and House sit - Short or Long Term Where did we start...? From 2010 we became known as the local hound and house sitters.

It all started with a collapsing economy, residential and commercial property becoming unaffordable that made us land in an exquisite little town... Darling in the Western Cape. We were swept up in the needs of our community and one that fell close to our hearts was the welfare of their beloved pets and their property. There are many kennel and cattery facilities available, but this can still hav

e a traumatic effect on pets, whereas staying in the comfort of home and routine is most often the ideal option. We have established an excellent reputation not only in Darling but in Cape Town, Yzerfontein and Shelley Point. We have looked after so many doggies and kitties and even chickens, on regular basis that in some cases we know more about them than their owners. With all this in mind, sometimes a little bit more is required for over all piece of mind and we are more than happy to step in, be it running a small restaurant, overseeing and taking bookings for a back packers or B&B, checking the pool and looking after the garden are some of the extra’s when needed. (This doesn’t mean we are going to mow your lawn and prune the roses - there is a limit! - LOL). On that note, we are also human... things sometimes go wrong where we don’t have any control - from racing to the vet after a Cobra bite (she made it!), DSTV LNB’s that packed up and a broken glass are small things in the overall scheme of things. We are confident that our referees will agree that their pets were happy, their property was secure and left as they would expect to find it. We are two guys in our 40’s taking on this responsibility because we love what we do, we are trustworthy and have a passion for the wellbeing of our furry friends. We normally work together, giving you two for the price of one. In season we take individual responsibility as needed. Due to popular demand, we have come up with the idea of doing a page, making it easier for all our old and new clients to plan accordingly. The Events Calendar will be updated on regular basis and our page will be fun-filled with pictures and comments from the pets we look after. We are happy to travel where ever you need us. All other regions will be considered with compensation for travel expenses. Feel free to contact us for your specific needs. All bookings can be forwarded to:

It goes without saying that Pinotage is South Africa's national grape. The first professor of viticulture at Stellenbosch University, Abraham Izak Perold, created it in 1925.

This grape ranks 97th on the world's list of grape varieties. Perold created this cross between Pinot Noir and Cinsaut (then known as Hermitage in South Africa). A more robust Pinot Noir was intended to combine the best qualities of Pinot with the reliability of Cinsault.

A number of countries around the world grow Pinotage today, including Australia, Brazil, Canada, Germany, Israel, New Zealand, the United States, and Zimbabwe. South Africa, however, produces the most volumes and most meaningful wines from this grape.

Here's to Prof Perold and his robust creation of Pinotage! Let's raise a glass! 🍷
