🚨 Help Save CROW on World Animal Welfare Day! 🌍🐾

On October 4th, World Animal Day, CROW faces a crisis like never before. The combined impact of COVID-19, devastating floods, and rising overheads has left us on the brink of closure within ten months. 😢 Without your immediate action, thousands of indigenous wild animals will be left without the help they desperately need.

To keep our mission alive, we're launching CROW’s Emergency Campaign on BackaBuddy to raise 350,000 Rand – enough to cover one month of operational costs. 🙏💚 One month may seem like a fleeting moment, but it means one month more rescues, more rehabilitations and more releases and more time to secure funding. Find the link here https://www.backabuddy.co.za/champion/project/hope-for-our-wildlife-crows-emergency-appeal. You can also go to our website https://crowkzn.co.za/donate

Please, help us spread the word by sharing this campaign with your family, friends, neighbours, and colleagues. Every contribution matters, and every Rand brings us closer to ensuring more rescues, rehabilitations, and releases. 🦔🦉🐢 Together, we can make a difference for these incredible creatures. 🌟

Au revoir bénévoles (Goodbye Volunteers)

CROW bid a sad farewell to international volunteers who arrived in the months of April – June 2022. We wish them well and thank them for their valuable contribution to our organisation.
Volunteering is a great way to give back to the community, meet new friends and learn new skills! Here at CROW, our volunteers become part of the family. We strive to create an environment of learning and collaborative work. Wildlife rehabilitation is hard work but very rewarding. With so many species under threat from urbanisation, pollution, misinformation and a growing illegal pet trade, it is up to all of us to change mind-sets, and forge a future for those without a voice.
If you are interested in our international volunteer programme, please email [email protected].

It is so awesome to see our little babies growing up. These two Pygmy Kingfishers came in about 3 weeks ago after their parents were both killed by a cat. It was in their best interest that they were brought to CROW to get the best care possible. They are now showing off their beautiful adult plumage and will be released soon.

Many of you are familiar with Percy's story. Due to zebras being herd animals we thought it would be best for him to have company of his own kind. We have managed to find a wildlife rehabilitation center in Limpopo which already has a few zebra foals his age. We have partnered with from Limpopo and Brendon from the in Johannesburg to raise funds for Percy's transport to give him the best chance of a successful rewilding. We are planning to transport him via plane which will come to an estimated cost of R10 000. If you would like to contribute to his expenses please view our banking details below and use the reference "zebra"

Have you met John? John is known by many names in the community. To us he is sniper John 😄 John has been helping out with some voluntary maintenance work around the grounds. He's been such a fantastic addition to our team!
If you know John already, you will know he is a hard working, easy going man with a big heart for wildlife. If you are in need of any handyman, help, please consider asking John.

Today is international animal rights day. Here at CROW, we treat all our patients with the utmost respect and care. Many of our patients come in due to human animal conflict and who usually need some extra TLC and the fighting chance they deserve.

Kyla Hill
Our primate intern.
Here you can see young stitch (vervet monkey) being dried off after a bath and we take this opportunity to weigh and health check the babies to make sure they are in good condition and they are growing well. We pride ourselves on our hands-off care and approach to wildlife rehabilitation, however, sometimes the babies need an extra helping hand.
Well done Kyla and team. Our volunteers are not just our team but our family. If you wish to learn how you can get involved email us:
