Parvovirus is a illness, that occurs mostly in young puppies. Black and Tan puppies seem to be affected more easily by Parvovirus. Parvovirus also stays in the environment for six months, or longer, so its imperative to learn what you can do to prevent parvo, and also how to handle the treatment.
Once your puppy is struck with parvovirus, the chances are very high that your puppy may not make it through.
Canine parvovirus, or “parvo”, is a contagious virus, mainly affecting dogs. Canine parvovirus may infect other mammals including wolves, foxes, skunks and cats. Cats are susceptible to panleukopenia, which is a different strain of parvovirus.
