If your pets are microchipped, ensure the chip is functioning properly. It’s essential for locating them if they become frightened and escape.
- Create a Safe Space
Consider bringing pets indoors if they’re distressed. Drawing the curtains and keeping the room dim can help, as well as providing toys or other distractions.
- Pre-Meal Relaxation
Feeding pets before the noise begins can help keep them relaxed with full

While these tips are mainly for cats and dogs, remember that all animals can be affected by loud noises. For small pets (like rabbits, hamsters, birds), covering their cages with a blanket can help buffer the sound. Keep a bucket with water nearby incase of a failure with the fireworks
