Santa Paws and helpers visited Life Hilton Hospital, to 'Woof everyone a Merry Christmas' and spread some Christmas cheer. What a tonic for our handlers, to see so many happy smiling faces. Thank you Sr Catherine, for always welcoming our team.

Our very special St Luke’s visit and a pic of Haggis and Sue as he is now qualified . We look forward to many many more happy visits .

Our Midlands handlers, and dogs, have been royally spoiled recently by Ampath Laboratories, Hilton Buddies, and Thembelithe Primary School.

After yesterday's evaluation, we welcome 3 boys to our Midlands team. Bo, Jack & Sam. The existing boys are very happy, as there's now a more even balance in the sexes.

Off duty!!
Angel Paws therapy dogs are our own dogs and they live with us at home . They have lots of fun ! This pic was taken after Angel Paws attended a very dear friend’s memorial on the beach …. As you can see the Therapy dog jacket comes off and it’s time to play!

Did you know that, as a general rule, dogs don't like to be cuddled, even by their family. They can't tell you that in words, but they do say it with their body language. eg stiff body, ears flat, lip licking, yawning, showing whites of their eyes - do any of those sound familiar, in some of the 'cute' pictures posted on FB? If no one takes notice of these signals asking for help, their next step is to bite, then the dog gets the blame.
There are exceptions, and we're very lucky to have some of these special dogs in our team, who not only like cuddles from their family, but like them from people we visit too, although we do get their permission, which they give us with their body language.

Sometimes our own handlers need the urgent "healing" services of their own therapy dogs! Fiona, one of our coastal handlers and visit leaders, is recovering from surgery, and Delilah, a much loved Angel Paw, is on duty at home. Delilah is assisted by her friends, Buddy and Poppy. They have taken their job very seriously and as a result, we can look forward to Delilah and Fiona's return to "work" soon. This past week, a founding dog member of Angel Paws Therapy Dogs, passed away. Franki has been a mentor to every one of the dogs in our coastal teams. A gentle, kind, cuddly bear that loved children, the aged, and traveling everywhere with his human, Pam Dimond. Angel Paws would not be where it is today without him. This precious soul will be missed by us all. Franki left the world having made many many lives brighter. and noe heaven is richer for his presence. #Brighteninglives #therapydogsofinstagram
